To the delight of many, Torchy's Tacos - Kingwood has officially opened. But we really weren't as taco poor here in Kingwood as most would have you think. Case in point ...Kingwood Meat Market! Some (or even a lot) of you may have not known this place existed, or that they even served tacos?! Well, the specific intention of this post is to change that! Kingwood, I'd like to introduce you to your very own taco shop - Kingwood Meat Market!  (And in case you're wondering...Of course they cut/process meat there, but that's a topic for another day. Today is all about the tacos.)First off, owner Edward Garza and his crew have been serving tasty tacos to Kingwood for over 5 years now. And he's the first smiling face you see when you walk in the door. He greets you with a warm "Good morning!", then gets right down to what kind of tortilla-wrapped treat you'd like to order. For purposes of this piece, I HAD to stop in there this morning. I mean, what's an article without research after all?! I went with a burrito AND a taco...I was feeling extra hungry. As the crew in the kitchen quickly got to work on my breakfast, I took my seat and started a green vs. red sauce debate in my head. The green, more spicy competitor won by a landslide. Before I knew it, Edward had brought my breakfast out to me. O   M   G ! ! ! It was as advertised and what this hidden gem's faithful customer base has come to expect...Delicious food, served in a plastic tray! I know that sounds simple...And that's because it is. Trying to overcomplicate something is a bad thing, especially with food. Besides that, it's pretentious. From the good ingredients to the freshly made tortillas, they just do it right at Kingwood Meat Market. And that's why they've been a favorite taco stop of Kingwoodians for years, and I believe they'll continue to be for quite some time. Editor's Note:If you go at lunch instead of breakfast, get the barbacoa.  And you're welcome!  Emoticon ~CLoading Image...Kingwood Meat Market4003 Rustic Woods Dr.Kingwood, TX(281) 359-0129Open at 7AM EverydayLoading Image... 4951

I would love to find it somewhere local that is just as good as theirs.

@teatime: I have been told their carnita's are REALLY good.  i cannot give you first hand experience since I really don't care for that but if they are as good as their tacos you are in luck.

Did they pay for this advertising? Jk I do like their tacos, their barbacoa isn't too bad but I prefer the greasy taco truck barbacoa over any dine in type place. 4951

@Wipedout: I am pretty much guessing that if you communicated this observation to them they would do everything they could to correct the situation.  From what a couple of friends have told me they are nice people and very accommodating.  I will have to try it out for myself this weekend....
