So my annual electric contract is up tomorrow. I did my research and decided to switch from Reliant to Cirro and completed the application process with Cirro and they will start service tomorrow. I don't need to call Reliant and cancel now, do I? I think I have stayed with Reliant the past few years... I just can't remember! 4951

You don't have to , but I would. I switched from reliant to gexa from Fallon's recommendation. With reliant my summer bills were high. Gexa cut my bill in half. 4951

The only way they can cut your bill in half is if they cut your rate in half. 4951

@ET:  Or do average billing.

You always pay the same amount in the end. They either catch you up or give you a credit.

I was paying $800-950 a month with Reliant. I told Fallon and she told me to go with gexa. Gexa bills during summer were $480 at most. That's about half. I was so thrilled. I felt like I'd been robbed by reliant. This was about 9 years ago. Reliant was charging so much more on watt or whatever they call it. I think theirs was like 19 cents and gexa was like 10 orv11 cents. It's when changing was not that common. I thank Fallon all the time. 4951

Nine years ago rates were in the upper/middle teens or higher. Now most are 9 cents or lower. Don't dispute that Reliant is/was high, just not twice as high. 4951

@ctl74:  If you can, try only signing up for 6 months or maybe going month to month.  We renew in January, when rates are typically at their lowest, then lock in for a year.  4951

Yes they were. I told Fallon at the time. She's the reason I switched. But it's ok. I'm sure you're arguing with me because I love the cowboys.. lol 4951

@donnatella:  Our contract also ends in Jan and we keep it that way for that reason.

ET, I did not see that. That might have been right before he signed so technically he wasn't a Cowboy yet. He was so wrong for doing that. I'm sure the team will explain that he could be suspended if he does it after the signing. 4951
