I was on Woodland Hills in left lane. My friend was driving. Here came a Black Toyota on her phone she went up on the curb completely and had to struggle to regain control.
It wasn't two minutes later she was swaying into my left lane.
Good grief lady the first time should of been good enough. Your going to kill yourself or someone else. I usually don't report this type of stuff but wish I had gotten license plate.
Couldn't tell if teenager or adult but someone is going to get hurt. 4951

Unfortunately this kind of stupidity happens on a daily thing in Kingwood, and people complain about the way the kids drive. These are the parents that are teaching their kids to drive, and we are wondering why there are so many accidents in the area.  4951

@saltwaterfisherman:

"These are the parents that are teaching their kids to drive"... really?

Out all the kids I have hit due to not stopping on red or STOP sign, hit me because looking at their radio and or phone, have all been fresh graduates from some stupid *** 1hr a week paid program. How do you get off blaming parents who take the longer hours to teach their kids to drive.

Maybe it's because dumb *** parents who don't take the time to educate their kids and just leave it to some stranger to do their job for them?

Will that same stranger visit your kids grave site and blame themselves for poor job done?

Just because you paid some chump to do your work for you does not free you from your responsibility to teach your kids. 4951

Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Nobody should be focused on other things other than the road, period. There's so many near accidents that I see every single day because of someone paying more attention to their phones, passengers, jamming to music, etc... pay attention to the road.@elguapo - I've never done a driver's ed training course and after looking at the price and hours put into it, it doesn't make sense to me. Almost $800 to drive for 2 hours in 4 days? I don't understand how someone can learn that fast and be good at it. 4951

@saltwaterfisherman was simply saying that kids who are distracted while driving probably observed their parents exhibiting the same behavior. He wasn't talking about driving school vs. parent taught. 4951

@elguapo: the situation here was this was an adult woman so she would be the parent if she is a parent. I really believe she has nothing to do with a paid program. Both my daughter's went through that program and I also taught. They are 24 and 30. I hate to text no accidents but God thank you for that. Back to the lady I hope she sees this. I hope her kids do not see her on her phone driving.

elguapo Since you claim to be involved in multiple accidents at stop lights and stop signs than maybe you shouldn`t be driving or teaching anyone how to drive. It also sounds like you don`t understand how to drive defensively like they teach young drivers in most drivers education programs that you are so against. My point was that kids learn by example. If they see their parents driving unresponsively than they will do the same. I would suggest that you read my original post since you have an issue with comprehension. I didn`t mention anything about an hour program or any of the other nonsense that you mentioned. 4951

It used to be taught in high school for a whole semester, followed by behind-the-wheel driving experience in the summer.  (This was in the '60s at Humble HS.)Coach Charles Forehand taught the Drivers Ed course and was a semester long, if I remember correctly.  In the summer, we drove Miss Patsy Vane Roush's personal car.  She was the girls PE coach, and man, you paid attention to her!  When she got through with us, we could have parallel-parked a semi.Alas, these classes were deemed expendable due to budget cuts at some point, and that's too bad.  We had a great foundation by the time we were eligible to be legit, solo drivers. 4951

I taught drivers ed to hundreds of kids back in the mid-90's. I put them through hell, they tell me, before I would sign off on their completion of the course. Well yeah. If they were going to share the road with me and my family, they had to be prepared.

In about a 1-year span after I left the area, 4 kids that I taught died due to drunk driving in 2 separate accidents. I can tell you this: they made the decision to D+D. It wasn't their parents.

So when you open your mouth and say that kids will text and drive because their parents do the same, that's just STUPID. The kids know better than to T+D. So do the adults. They just don't care. They are so narcissistic that only their life matters NOW and it can't wait.

We, the parents, should take on much of the responsibility of the behavior of the children today, but not all of it and NOT texting and driving, nor drinking and driving. It really is an individual decision.

Happy Memorial Day!

I have had probably close to 40 traffic tickets and even  have traffic court tomorrow lol. Jim Adler once sued my insurance for 110k and won. My insurance claims from wrecks have totaled up over 300k but for some reason my insurance agent always tells me it nice to hear from me every time I call.  I took drivers ed as a kid and my old man spent a lot of time with me too teaching me how to drive. I guess some of us just are not as perfect as others. Thank you Jesus for insurance and traffic attorneys!

@SwaggyG: ARE YOU SERIOUS?  AND YOU STILL HAVE A LICENSE AND CAN AFFORD INSURANCE?ME THINKS YOU IS A FOOL FOR POSTING THIS BS--BRAGGARD.. 4951
