I looked on some of the village websites, but cannot find anything find anything. Does anyone know if any of the village boys have instructor lead swim lessons? 4951

Observe and approach the lifeguards at your pool that seem to be hard workers , good with kids ect. Let them know you are looking to hire a guard to give lessons to perfect form and speak of specific strokes. 4951

So I guess the old throw "them in the deep end of the pool" method isn't suggested these days..man, kids got it so easy! 4951

@mayorofnothing: That did not work for me. In the late 1980's and early 90;s I grew up on boats. My dad had a Chris Craft boat, Bayliner and a Sea ray. I'm almost 40 now and I still sink. I remember taking swimming lessons when I was young at a college pool. They said ''jump in and when you hit bottom push up with your feet''. When I jumped in I hit bottom pushed up with my feet and it did not work. I sank back down to the bottom pushed up again and I was able make it to the safety float ropes. I grabbed ahold of them and never let go. They yelled at me and said let go. I've been scarred for life. LOL
