I saw a snake slither from the concrete pathway into a hole at the end of the path.I know it's probably a garter snake, non venomous, but still!I googled to see if maybe there was a way I could encourage it to leave and I ran across a disturbing fact...they give birth to lot of live snakes! LOTS! MANY!There could be a 'den' of snakes under the sidewalk!I don't want them there. The dogs and I walk out there at night and have to cross that area to get to the backyard.  Someone come dig them out.  Relocate them, whatever!Oh, and it's close to my back door.  I leave that open sometimes.  I don't want a snake or snakes in my house!!  Emoticon  Emoticon 4951

I would not worry about them. They only come out when you should be in bed. LOL

I can't send my DH over to help, or I would.  The last time the neighbor asked him to get a snake out of his yard, he freaked her out by holding it and petting it.  I told her she had to be more specific and tell him "Come kill the snake." LOL 4951

I don't really want to have to kill it. I will if I'm feeling threatened, lol.A while back, I signed up on a facebook page called "What Kind of Snake is This?" so that I can get educated enough not to be so afraid of them.  Still don't want one near me though.I took my nephews to the snake farm near San Marcos a couple of decades ago and we have a photo of us holding a HUGE yellow snake. I'm holding the middle part.  For whatever reason, I wasn't so scared of the big snake.Another neat FB page is Antman's Hill - used to identify bugs and insects 4951

My FIL and his 2nd wife were visiting us.  The wife and Debbie were going shopping.  When they opened the rear door, there sat a garter snake.  I just shoo away garter snakes but any venomous snakes get the hoe or shovel!@lola:  you are correct.  Some snakes form mating balls and then den up in the same area. Garter snakes are probably the most prolific "orgy" snakes in this area.  4951

This guy was in my driveway last weekend so I sprayed it with wasp spray. It made its way to the neighbors house and he shot it...
