If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why? Any good suggestions for a travel spot? 4951

Are you traveling alone or with others? Budget to respect?

Me, I did a solo photo safari near Johannesburg, South Africa that will likely always rank as my #1 vacation.

I was visiting relatives in SA but couldn't find anyone who wanted to do the safari too. I didn't let the lack of other participants keep me from going. I enjoyed 5 of the most awe inspiring days of my life appreciating nature and devouring outstanding cuisine. 4951

Want to travel to lots of places both abroad and here in the US.
Right now I am targeting Italy, for history and cuisine. Also looking at a Northern California coastal tour. When those are done I will have other targets. 4951

I would love to take a road trip out east to South Carolina, travel up the coast to Virginia then loop back around to get home, making sure I hit the Great Smokey Mountains along the way somewhere. If I had lots of time I wouldn't mind making it all the way up to New York before looping back. 4951

I have already visited Europe, South America, central America, some parts of North Africa, Pakistan. The safari idea sounds great but more hunting as I would love to hunt for the Kudu buck and definitely cape buffalo. Depending on the price maybe leopard. If not African Safari than Alaska for sure for their bear hunts. 4951

Great question!  I'd love to go to Australia and dive the Great Barrier Reef.  I also want to get close and personal with some kangaroos, koalas, platypuses and quokkas.I'd also love to go to Venice, Italy.   4951

@ET, the drive from Sausalito, up US 1, is one of the prettiest drives in the US.  You do pass through a fair share of hippy havens, but there are some clean places too.  LOL There are several B&B's that have wonderful views. And there are some cool places to pull over, and you can see where people use to keep an eye out for Germans in WWII. You will not be disappointed when you take that drive.

@Fallon: I lived through those places. There is a section of Highway one known as the Devil slide which is the curvy lengths between Linda Mar and Half Moon Bay which during my youthful crazy days I used to race for pink slips.

@CBP210, OMG, I would have had a heart attack.  I didn't see an inch of road you could race on!

@Fallon: That is why we did it. That section was called devil slide even before I was born.
