How do you do it???

I went from an outdoorsy job wearing steel toes, jeans, and a hard hat to now having to look "presentable". Lol. From a office at a terminal to a cubicle in a corporate highrise. I'm a borderline tomboy I guess. Does it get better? Its a completely different atmosphere! Discovered the tunnels at lunch the other day, thats a plus! 4951

@lola:

Im actually 5 miles less from my previous location, but 20 mins longer since I transferred downtown with traffic. GPS tells me to take 59 to 10 to 45. Is there an easier way? I work on Bagby St.? 4951

I've worked downtown, galleria and energy cooridor in a corporate setting my entire adult work life. Outside of jeans on Friday, it's always been business and business casual, and I've really known nothing else.

Just like @lola said, you go where the money is and dress accordingly. 4951

Park and ride makes for a much more relaxing commute.  That's what I miss most about working downtown.  4951

Depending on what block of Bagby, park and ride and a 2 to 3 block walk. I like Park and ride to relax on the way home...

I started off in a downtown office and later moved to facility operations, will end up my career there. Much prefer the latter. 4951

@ForeCPA90:

Totally, if I had to drive down there every day I'd lose my mind. Love the park and ride, plus it lets me a 45 min nap everyday before I get home. 4951

@2kidsandadog:

You can have a MetroQ Card mailed right to you if you go to this site.

www.ridemetro.org/Pa ges/METROOnlineStore .aspx

I think you can also get a card at some grocery stores. The actual card is free and if you decide to just order a card online, you can order it with a $0 balance. All free, no fees. Then you can go to the KW Park and Ride and load money onto it at the kiosk. 🙂 4951
