at one am this morning hubby let our dogs out to go pottie , 2 came back in right away , but our little black poodle didn't come . So hubby got his flash light to go find him & saw the side gate was open , we were up all night walking & calling for Pooh . At 3:30 am I told hubby it was useless because it was dark & Pooh is solid black so hard to see at night , so we came back home . At 5 am I was back on the streets calling until I was horse . I decided to go down the hill after I walked the mile circle & at the bottom of the hill laying against the curb I saw Pooh . I ran & picked him up & ran all the way home calling my husband to help . We jumped in the car & took off for the 24 hour emergency clinic & we turned our little fur baby over to the doctor & prayed for the best , but that was not to be . Pooh had been hit by a car & all his ribs were broken , his pelvis was crushed & his vertebrae was crushed & several teeth had been broken . If he had lived he would not have been able to walk & run any longer . So we had to make the best decision for Pooh & have him put to sleep . We held him & told him how much we loved him & what a good dog he was until he went to sleep for the last time . Today was Pooh's 16th birthday , so he died on his birthday . He was a wonderful little fur ball & he will be missed . Our hearts have an empty space . Please pray for Pooh as he goes to the "Rainbow" bridge . I'm so sad I don't know where all these tears are coming from , the pain is terrible , we have lost our 1st fur baby .Â
@WJo: I do not trust many of the drivers I seen speeding to have any compassion nonetheless stop and try to help when they know they have hit a poor little critter, small puppy, or cat.  In their rush to get where she or he wants to get added Texting or on the phone they cannot  prevent hitting any living thing that gets on their way.  They can care an iota about watching anything that gets on their way specially a little dog or any critter in the street. It is a sad situation, I am sorry for the poor baby for meeting such a terrible demise. I am sure who killed your poodle knew he or she did hit him but didn't bother to stop. It is so very sad karma is a beitch. I am sorry for the family and for what your are going through ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
