Just curious. What's the worst job you ever had?One job I came to hate was at a frozen yogurt place. I worked in the evenings and various Little League type teams would come in (different sports). We sold shaved ice and customers could get up to 3 different flavors of syrup. Well, imagine waiting on about 15-20 little boys, all trying to decide on which flavors they want, changing their minds mid-stream, and then being the only employee there. AUGHHHHHMy blood pressure goes nuts just remembering those days. 4951

I worked at a chicken farm. Innoculating the chickens and collecting eggs. Those darn birds are just evil! 4951

I worked at a Montessori school/day care one summer just after high school. That is when I figured out that I really do not like other people's children. 4951

Ive had jobs I love, but bosses I hated.

Housewife/SAHM is sucking pretty badly right now..those ungrateful little leaches are just all leaving home without a thought to what I am supposed to do now.

I worked in a call center for at&t trying to sell long distance..I was good at it, but I hated it. One guy, he was acting all nice and polite, you could hear the smile in his voice..then he went off on me calling me a ******* ***** and who the he'll did I think I was calling him at dinner time and he just went on and on..it made me cry.
I was just a young mom trying to help bring in money and I had no idea who the computer called for me.
That job is why I can't be mean to telemarketers. I will just politely say no thank you, or have a little conversation because I know they are marked on their call time.

ETA:...I set his number for a followup call the next morning at 8am..the computer would automatically dial him every morning until another rep changed that. Reps dony like to change those things and adding someone to the "donotcall" list was frowned upon and an automatic call review. They had to say, verbatim, "add me to your do not call list" otherwise..they still legally got sales calls.. 4951

I can't say I've ever had a job that I hated.  One of them sticks out as being the nastiest.  When Debbie and I first got married, I went to college and worked part-time for her uncle in his septic tank business he ran from his home.  Digging up septic tank covers, pumping out the sewage, rodding out sewage lines, dumping out the sewage in a dry-out pit, etc. Fortunately, I never fell into a septic tank like one person did. 4951

Dang, some tough jobs here. I worked a number of call center jobs, my two worst were credit card collections and then USAA, made me cry nearly every night. They lied to me in the interview. 4951

During college I used to work construction at the chemical plant during summer and winter breaks. Pay was good, but the Texas summer heat surrounded by steel and concrete working 10 hour days 6 days a week sure kept my butt in school. 4951

I had a few "pay your dues" jobs in small, mom and pop law firms. The worst were husband is sole practitioner and the wife is the office manager. Knee-deep in selective rules and policies that change with the wind, and way too much "do as I say, not as I do" philosophy.

Went into Big Law and never ever looked back. More of a corporate structure with specific policies and guidelines that are clearly published and provided toneveryone. You know the rules, do your job and build tenure. 4951

Second worst job, worked at papa johns right after high school. The owner wanted all the school pizza contracts so he low bid to the point he didn't make any money.  I was only employee that could work mornings, so there I was every weekday morning making between  120 and 150 extra large pizzas, with him standing over my shoulder constantly griping at me for not going fast enough. Still stresses me out to think about it 4951

@Jherron: Any decent manager worth a crap would have stepped up, pitched in and help get the job done vs power trippin'.

Sorted chicken when I was 14 in a cooler for a local fried chicken place. They paid me cash in a paper bag every week. I lasted about a month. Chicken smelled so bad even in the cooler. Some of it I remember was turning green. My clothes, never could get the smell out. Had to throw them out. I only eat fried chicken now if I make it which is almost never.  4951
