Thinking of bringing my two-year-old on Friday or Saturday to the aquarium. Which is better? Downtown or Kemah? Is there a difference? 4951

The Downtown Aquarium be way better for him it has way more stuff to look at and then you can feed the Stingrays plus the train ride is really cool for his age 4951

From what I remember downtown is more of an interactive aquarium where the actual aquarium in Kemah serves as a backdrop and something cool to look at in the waiting area. Definitely downtown. If you were going to do Kemah, it wouldn't be much further to Moody Gardens, they have a great aquarium there, my kids loved going there when they were little.  4951

Buy a video of fish and put it on the TV. A two year old will get as much out of that and you won't have to pay for parking. 4951

Its just a restaurant with a big fish tank, not really an aquarium. 4951

they have the interactive aquarium downstairs. A good bit to see for kids.

@Fallon: So once you've finished that you'll still have to wait 20 minutes for your table.

Future food.

@ET: Actually it would be more interesting if you could pick your tuna from the tank.

I could tell ya'll a horror story about that place, but I would have to change names to protect the innocent, me.Lets pretend a person went with that persons sons class to visit said aquarium one day.  And was busy taking lots of pictures.  Yes the flash was on.  And really, we can't blame a busy hurried mom taking lots of photos for the class, can we? No!  Could be the octopus came up to the glass and said mom got some great shots of the kids and the octopus.  And it is possible that said mom did NOT see the sign saying NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY, by the octopus sign.  At least not until the week later when the woman's family went back and saw that the octopus exhibit was shut down, because the octopus had died.  Said mom may have been carrying around a lot of guilt over this for many years.

@Fallon:

Oh no. It does say that I just figured the octopus doesn't like it I didn't know it would have died. Wow how sad. 😥🐙Rip 4951
