Has anybody rented a Rv one way? We're going to pick up my niece and nephew in Dallas and drive back home to Utah send a couple of weeks with my brothers family then fly back to Texas. Any suggestions on this matter would be appreciated! 4951

We did it once in San Antonio.  It can be expensive especially with a long trip.  Renting RV's is very popular in Canada.  The company use was Cruise America RV.  Just need to make sure everything is covered and clean when returned.  Seems they find away to take your money upon return. 4951

I never rented an RV but I did rent a camper in the past especially when I hunted my former lease near Woodville. 4951

We rented one a couple of years ago from the place on 494 across from Lowe's. I suggest test driving before you decide on which one. We must have had a very old model bc it was very uncomfortable while driving. Very bumpy and unsturdy feeling. Pretty sure they're not all like that though! 4951

Use your car and stay in hotels. Be cheaper in the long run and you're not dragging a Goliath across the state. 4951

Anybody in the military in your party? They rent them at their R&R centers for dirt cheap. Rented one years ago but not sure if they have one around here. 4951

Trust me I love a long road trip! But with two five year olds,a nana,a great grandma and two dogs. I'm thinking having a bathroom onboard would be worth it! We stopped three times just between Dallas and Houston bringing them here this weekend! Even the threat of having to pee on the side of the road didn't faze those kids! Between all the potty breaks we'll never make it to Salt Lake City! I'm truly a glutton for punishment!

When you see the cost of the rental (can you even get a one-way) and fuel you might want to fly both ways. Bathroom flies with you. 4951

You probably won't save much with the RV.  At 6 miles to the gallon, it adds up fast.  Also, they normally (unless it's a higher-end one) only go about 60, so it takes longer than a normal car and they struggle through elevations.  My BIL has one and he has had to slow down to 35, and had cars backed up behind him on 2 lane highways for miles...  Talk about some road rage.  Emoticon 4951
