@squirtismyboy:
Mo stupider.....
@Ray: I know the feeling. My kids often ask me "why don't you use this app, or that app?" Since so many apps 'require' access to so many different things on your phone (some of which is personal), I just don't trust too many apps.My daughter uses some financial app where you can send or receive money via email. She needed to borrow a few bucks until her paycheck came in. She tried to show me how simple it was and ended up mistakenly sending me some money instead of requesting it. Since I don't (and won't) use that app, her money was in limbo for a couple of weeks. Once I didn't accept it after some period of time, it returned to her account.
p.s. I hope you and Jan did the OTHER deed as well!
@Retired_Engineer:
I know both chase and BOA have that capability through their mobile banking apps. No third-party necessary.
@BooBear: Thanks for the tip! We all use Chase so I would trust their app more than a third-party. I'll have to look into that.I have a regular Chase app so I can check on Deb and my accounts, or transfer money between them, but it doesn't allow you to transfer money to another person. We used to be able to set up an external account for Deb's sister. She was taking care of their mother (Alzheimers), so we and their brother sent her money each month. It was easier and faster than mailing her a check, plus she couldn't leave her mother to deposit a check. When I looked at setting up an external account for my son and daughter, Chase had changed it's rules and my name had to be on any account I transferred money to, unless I was willing to do a wire transfer and pay the fees.I hope the Chase app you mention works easier.
