Pretty neat. Put it on the tuner, press a button and it turns and tunes the string:https://youtu.be/-WC0Lt6yqX8 4951

Three times more accurate than the human ear. This is the second generation model so apparently it works well. 4951

I tried an early version years ago, and it was alright. Not for rookies though, I had a customer who was way off on his tuning, and the machine tried to tune it to the right note, wrong octave.  Goodbye string. 4951

I hope beginners don't use it. Training your ear is a very important part of becoming a well-rounded musician.  4951

These are always religious debates.  When Gibson came out with the g-force there were those that wanted to burn the place down.  I'm ok with making things easier, but in agreement that one of the first things that should be learned is how to tune to relative pitch and then develop an ear for the correct pitch.  As for me, I'll stick with my clip-on snark for a quick tune and my polytuner peddle for gig work.  4951

@elguapo: autotune made radio stars out of talent-lacking people.  Not much worse than listening to someone play an out-of-tune instrument.  :-( 4951

@JackDaneCPA: I can tune by ear but some stuff like Radiohead, they just have some strange tunings. This would allow me to play some things I have always struggled tuning and also put it back on standard tuning easily. 4951

Agreed. Technology is awesome, except when it's used to replace musicality.  4951

James Taylor has an interesting technique.  Use a tuner but use it to your advantage.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V2xnXArjPts 4951

VERY interesting, thanks! This is similar to the well temperament (vs. the equal temperament) many piano tuners use. And a perfect example of why we shouldn't rely 100% on technology. Okay, I'll stop now. Emoticon  4951
