I have been looking for her because I had been helping her out with different things she needed and I haven't seen her.  I look every day and have gone by at different times.  I asked at McDonald's this morning and they said she hasn't been in in a few weeks.  I'm worried about her and don't even know how to start finding out if she's ok.  4951

I noticed she hasn't been around in awhile. Maybe she has moved up to Porter if she was seen at that Kroger. 4951

She does have family but she is mentally not completely stable so staying with her mom was an issue.  My DD and I spent time sitting and talking with her a few times.  I know she said a lot of her doctors were in the Porter area so maybe she did move that way.  Like @fallon said, I hope she gets the help she needs.  She really is a nice lady just living a very hard life. 4951

@dotti573: Next time I'm in Porter, I'll look around at the places she would set up camp when she was there before, and let you know if I come across her... 4951

@OldGuy: Thank you.  I am very worried about her.  I would hate to be outside all day and night like she was.

@dotti573: I know what you mean, but she has been out there for quite awhile now. The first time I saw her was in late 2014 when she was staying on the sidewalk at the Porter Goodwill Store. I hope she finally went to a shelter and is getting the help she needs.

@OldGuy: I totally agree with you.  I just wish I had a way of knowing that she was ok.  That's all.

Most homeless are not able to sustain employment and are therefore disabled.  If she is not receiving Social Security or SSI benefits I could try to get her on those AND donate 100% of any fees generated (SSA withholds from the benefits owed at the time benefits are finally granted) into a "challenge fund" to be given to some local charity to help others rather than demean by suggesting that they are on "vacation."  If she is found, ask if that might her help her and send me a private message. 4951

I've also been wondering about her. I swear I saw someone with her last week or so walking with her up towards porter. I've been keeping my eye out as I spend a lot of time in Porter. 4951

@mulmye: I offered to help her work on this type of stuff but she wasn't really interested.  She feels that their is a conspiracy theory against her so it took along time for her to even tell me her real name.  She told me she knows she is not capable of even working at a fast food restaurant at this point.  That she needs help and needs to get her mind straight first before she can get a job and move on.  They built that new building and she said she asked the person going in there if she was on their property and they told her no.  Maybe someone changed their mind about her being there and made her move on.   She really is smart.  She had surviving there down to a science.  She knew how much money she had each day, how much everything cost and what she could spend and eat each day.  I just hope that she has what she needs where ever she went.

@dotti573: Unfortunately, that is not unusual.  I can't possibly promise anything but 20 minutes of dilly-dallying by 2-3 of us at a time over tacos or sandwiches changes the dynamic, never mind my and your wit and charm.  I am no expert on  the travails of the "movie theater parking lot homeless lady" but what have I got to lose by trying?
