Just keep throwing the ball at the little guy... no need to pay someone else to throw the ball at the little guy.  4951

We do that, but there needs to be some corrections made on their swing and stance. 4951

There should be some youtube videos about batting stances & swing form that you can review with him. 4951

Rodney McCray 313-574-3131 / Madden Zone - Humble.  Charges $45 per 30 minutes, but he is wonderful with my 12 year old son.  Really made a difference for us.  I think he used to play for the NY Mets. 4951

We went to Sergio at The Zone. He was really excellent -- friendly, positive, but also demanding if my son got a little lazy. The Zone is on Mills Branch  in the back of Kingwood. I think we paid $40 for 30 minute sessions. 4951

80 to 90 bucks an hour? .... geez, just keep throwing the ball at the little guy, teach him to have fun and don't make everything so technical. Teach him good sportsmanship and how to support his teammates. Most of the kids I've seen on the field have had excellent "form" but they're just little chits to their teammates. The ones i notice with great form and attitudes are the kids their dads took the time to work with them. 4951

@deltadawn:

Pretty much...and video him so you can actually show the flaws.

Do a search for Ken Griffey Jr's swing mechanics....it's as flawless, smooth/quiet of a swing as you will find. 4951

If you want to take to the next level a coach is what you need.

@SwaggyG:

Take him to the next level? It's a freaking kid. Let him have fun and enjoy the sport in his own way, not yours. All you have to do is be his chearleader.

Now if he is that 1% kid that wants professional help, then by all means send him on to "the next level".

I trained with Ted Williams.  He taught me his methods of teaching hitting.  I worked with some former and current major league players. 4951

Thank you for the help. I was asking because f they have bad habits it is e asier to correct now then when they are older.
. It will hold them back. The pro can pick up the smallest detail.
Do what you want with your kid.

Kinda like weight lifting cant give a kid weights and expect them to be able to lift properly with good form and expect them Not to get hurt. Someone needs to show them how. 4951
