Hold on wait...didn't he "retire" at least a few times already? I can't keep up. Like him a lot but this seems like a desperate comeback move. 4951

@donnatella:

He said back when he retired in 2001 that it was so that he could be off the road and with his daughters as they grew up.  He commented then that he had made more money than his great grandchildren could spend, so he just wanted to make his girls his priority.  He started playing Wynn's in Vegas in 2009 but part of the deal was that Wynn had to provide a private jet so that he could quickly get back and forth to Oklahoma.  His youngest daughter (he has 3) is now 20 or 21 and he's a grandpa.  I've never been a super fan, but you have to tip your hat to the man for stepping away to be there for his kids.  4951

I was a big fan in the 90's. His latest CD I wasn't as impressed. Wonder if he can still get out and run around the stadium like he used to do. He put on a show like no other, especially at the Rodeo. 4951

@OldGuy:
I was fortunate enough too see Brooks in '95 on a college campus - my first exposure to Country music "up North". WOW. I'm sure I'm biased but his show was something I still remember... 💙

I am very excited, I hope I can make it out to see one of the shows.  I really respect him for taking a long break and being a hands on dad.  So many artists are afraid to take a break that they will not remain relevant.  More dads like him are needed. 4951

I saw him when he played the rodeo. He put on a great show. He has won entertainer of the year a few times and after seeing his show, I could see why. I'll have to dust off my cowboy boots because I'd love to see him again! 4951

He lived and raised his kids in a suburb of my US home town.  One of my good friend's kids played softball with his.  He, and Trisha, acted like, and were treated like any other parent in the community.  I always thought that was very cool.Edited.  His I confused his wife, it's Trisha not Faith. 4951

@cador:

He's said several times that all he ever tries to do is imitate a Chris LeDoux show.“I stole my whole act from Chris,” Brooks said. - American Cowboy (June 23, 2014) Of course he paid LeDoux back in spades by dropping his name into the lines of "Much Too Young".  4951

@shodan66: I've heard that too about Chris. Wow! What an entertainer he was/would be!
