Took a math test without calculator? UGH! I had to do a simple one today, simple that it was figuring business % off and calculate tax on a given amount.  Man! My brain hurt aftewards.  We were given scratch paper and pen. Been too many years for me, we rely too much on technology now days. 4951

This is depressing.
They didn't have calculators when i was in school.
I had one finally in college, but we were not allowed to use it for tests. 4951

It can be a real problem if you have had a finger amputated. As Phyllis Diller said:  "The college football player couldn't count beyond ten unless he had his pants unzipped!". 4951

Finance class & a capstone. I'm good as long as it's multiply/divide/add/subtract stuff, throw in angles and degree type things and I'm going to need that calculator. 4951

I should have been so lucky! The price of one of those would have meant no dinner for the family for 2 or 3 days. 4951

No, not for a class, actually for a job application.  It wasn't really hard, figuring percent off and tax.  I just had to use brain cells that had gone dormant EmoticonSome of the people there were not so fortunate, one even said...i couldnt do it if i was allowed to use my calculator, i dont know how to do this.  Really? And she was about 20 years younger than I am. Our society is in trouble. 4951
