My friend did a number like you on her leg last Thursday.
She's still in the bed drugged phase and in a tripod with pins etc.
How can I make things better and easier for her?
What did you need and miss the most? 4951

@beadweaverOh hells-to-the-No, dude....  I am truly, SO, SO very sorry for your friend........Dizzamn...  What the heck happened?As far as me, I was Most Fortunate to have my Mother-In-Law's Scooter to assist in getting me about throughout the house, but I would suggest maybe offering to help her with Laundry, if she has any Canine compadres, perhaps taking them out / feeding and helping out with the fresh water for.....(If she's got Cats, dude, help with the liter box would be Most Wonderful!)...Maybe whip up a few easy snacks that she can grub on as she feels hungry, like a Veggie Tray, Fresh Fruit ready to go, and / or maybe some Zucchini or Banana Bread....I say Snacks, as I wasn't at all hungry for "Meal - Meals"...  Plus there's the dishes / clean-up... And depending on how good a friend she is, I can NOT stress how much doob-age saved me....  I still have all of the prescribed Medications that I was given for Pain....I kid you not, dude....  Full bottles....  I'd much rather stick with the All Nat-u-ral.... Also, for me, rubbing my Foot in Arnica Oil seemed to very much encourage the healing process...  As did actually taking Arnica for the Pain and Swelling....Oh, and I ended up getting creative with some scissors and would wrap my Foot in a Cashmere Scarf, followed my a snug (not tight) fitting sock, then would add the massive Ace Bandage rolls....  The softness and snugness (leaving all of the toes due to the Pins in my tootsies out, hence the scissors part) seemed to give some comfort....(P.S. - Dude, after my Surgery when the Pins were inserted, and the Bones were either removed or re-positioned back, I would NOT allow them to recast my Foot...  Even though my Ankle, Heel, several bones in the top of my Foot were all mangled and broken, I went against the Doc and would not allow it.... I simply could NOT stand not being able to touch, rub and get to my Foot....  So, my Doc molded an Open Hard Cast that housed my foot and came up my calf, so that I could take it on and off as I pleased...I would first wrap my Foot up, place in a Soft Air Cast, then step into the Hard Cast and wrap Ace Bandages around the secure the Hard Cast....(This is until I progressed to the Walking Cast / Boot...)I'm a firm believer in allowing Fresh Air and Direct Sunshine on any bow-bow to increase Healing....  That's just me though, dude...         Also, I would say to stay in touch with her daily....  I can NOT Thank the homie, @yankeejessica  , for checking in on me daily...  She lifted my spirits more times than I can say, and was nothing - I mean nothing, shy of a legit Blessing....  Side Note:  ( If you read this, J, love you, dude...)  You can let her know that it's been a year since my most unfortunate incident, and my Foot is still quite sensitive (to the touch, to certain shoes, and to the Weather!)....And I am still Most Protective over it....  Understandably so though...I fully realize how seriously tore-up it was, and that it will never be the same again.......But Glory To God, dude, I'm back walkin', mowin' the yard, and doing everything that I did prior...  I will just never own a house with a Pool....  EVER....  AGAIN! Please give her a warm embrace, and my most heartfelt sympathy...And please let me know if there's anything I can do, dude....  I know that ya'll are in Florida, but I'm just a Text, a Shout-Out away.....  I'm right here...

@herron1345:
Well we have most of that covered and the doobage must wait. Nobody knows she embibes. She just did it and now has blisters so no surgery. She pinned through side to side and anchored to the shin below the knee. She snapped all three bones above the ankle. She's not allowed to not have it elevated.
She's coming out of the drug induced stuper they had her on and she said it too. No freakin way am I taken all those pain meds. They wanted her to dope up every 3 to four hours. At first oxyi and she said no thanks. She had first bandage change monday and said the lady was real rough. Just did it Thursday.
I feel guilty for takin to long in my shower. I might have gone to pick up the g-kids and head to the park. Instead she ran to the shopping center.
I'm across the street so I'm a hop skip and jump.
I got Tink her little Chiwawa mix. It's a clingy little girl. Lol
I only ask one thing, if you would kindly say a blessing for her healing. That would mean the most.
Thank you.
