Yep, I can vouch for that, I got a sack this past Saturday and they were perfect. Price was great too, they had them $1.97 a lb. 4951

Has anyone tried crawfish from the stands? I saw a stand at Northpark last weekend. I've inly had crawfish once and that was from Joes Crab Shack, so I would love to try from a reliable vendor that steams. 4951

@Champagnechola:

I think so, but that doesn't mean you cant eat them. I mean was dead an hour before or 2 days before? My rule of thumb is to not eat any that seem mushy or discolored.  4951

@2kidsandadog: We've tried that place on North Park.  I would give it only 3 out of 5 stars.  They boil the crawfish in plain water, then sprinkle seasoning on the outside of the crawfish.  The meat was bland and the only flavor was when you licked your fingers. I've never had steamed crawfish and I'm not interested in trying them.  Crawfish should be boiled with lots of spices in the water (salt, Zatarain's Crab Boil, lemons, onions, garlic, cayenne pepper, etc).

Thanks! I've never had boiled seafood before, maybe it will be easier to try at home.

@Retired_Engineer: It is my experience that the Vietnamese have conquered the "boil" world.  Try the "Boiling Shrimp" and let me know what you think.   4951

@Retired_Engineer:

@2kidsandadog:  I highly recommend Ragin Cajun Seafood and Oyster Bar on 4302 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77027.  It's inside the 610 loop on Richmond.  I see that they've opened up more locations, but I don't know if they're as good as the original.
