my gown is hanging in the basement along with everything else that goes into planning this celebration . The DJ has been notified & the minister is booked . We are now looking for a place to hold the reception . I never realized that a 25 year anniversary would be as complicated as our 1st wedding , except now there's more work because there are more family & friends involved . I have a list a mile long of things to do the day of the celebration , we have family coming in from as far away as Iowa & Arizona . Thank goodness it will be an evening celebration so we have the entire day to make all our mistakes & to cope with all the problems I'm sure will pop up . Just praying the weather is nice & no rain or snow . This time around we are writing our own vows , it will be interesting to hear what hubby has to say after 25 years (LOL). What makes this really special is our entire family is involved in one way or the other  right down to the planning & the food . Has anyone else had a 25th celebration ? We are asking that no gifts be given but if they would like to make donations to Children's Cancer Research  Fund at Children's Hospital  it would be appreciated . Hopefully it will be a good time for all . 4951

Congrats! We had our 25th five years ago. We, along with family and friends, went to Las Vegas and renewed our vows and had a fantastic time.  You are correct in that it took a lot of planning and coordinating, but it was well worth it.  May yours be a happy, memorable and blessed event. 4951

My hubby surprised me with a renewal ceremony at the same chapel we got married in on our 25th, with a lot of our family there.  Normally, I know when he has something up his sleeve.  I was  completely surprised and overwhelmed.  We had survived a rough spell and I told him one time I would like to do this, I guess he was listening.  Even though my idea was to be private, just the two of us.  A Great memory! 4951

@retired_engineer.. you really have to enjoy the person you married to stay that long , our 1st year was really rough because of his ex-wife , but  after we moved  away from the area she called "home" things improved . Now 25 years later we are really enjoying the life we have together. 4951

Congratulations!  Have fun and don't worry about the small stuff.  It will all work out in the end and no one will know if something was not the way you planned it.   4951
