My husband notice that the flooring upstairs in the guest bathroom is uneven. Can this be fixed? Who can we contact? I'm sure this issue is not covered under warranty. The bathroom has wood floors. 4951

You should definitely contact the builder. That could be a structural problem 4951

@BooBear:

Could have been built that way, important to know if it is still moving - could be a sign of a structural failure. 4951

Isn't that what I said? But without using the word failure that will have her scared of an impending collapse...

Differentiated from "built it wrong" versus collapsing. But if you want the credit, it is yours.

Sealed and glued wood can be used in a wet room. I thought she was talking about the sub floor though. 4951

With today's wood floors, especially engineered, it is no problem to have them in a humid room, as long as they are properly installed.  4951

I would check the ceiling below for leveling. Seems like that would tell you if it was structural. Also cracks in paint, seams. Assuming it's structural if it's that noticeable. I know for flooring it should be level within 3/16th of an inch which is really not noticeable. Have you put a level on it? If it's an inch or more something is likely going on either with lateral bracing or the foundation.   4951

Good points - also, I would add that since it is the second floor it could be just problems with the subfloor and could be fixable, although they would have to remove at least some of the wood floor to get to it.  4951

Forgot about the sub floor. Could be taking in moisture...shower, pipe. Is there a window in the bathroom? I had rain water leaking in above the window in my bathroom. A lot of damage but it was an older home and we were gutting the whole thing anyway.  .  4951
