I'm trying to put together a team for removing Bandit signs in the Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita area.Would anyone be interested in volunteering their time to remove these signs?If you are interested, please contact me at 832-573-5991 or email me at KingwoodPressureWash@gmail.com.I've been doing as much as I can, but there are way too many out there to get them all myself.I have talked with the county attorney, and if we document good information on these bandit signs, they will prosecute them.Contact me for more information if you are interested. 4951

If the bandit signs are on a State roadway (IH 69, Loop 494 or FM 1960) then call Texas Department of Transportation - that is part of their job. Plus if it is the same company that keeps putting signs on State Right of Way without permission they can prosecute. 4951

You can call until you're blue in the face, but they don't remove them at a proper frequency. 1960 is always full of them.  I keep getting told it is the county's process to remove them in Atascocita. 4951

@Kingwood Pressure Washing:

TxDOT has to be called when the signs are out there to remove them on State roads. Unfortunately they are short handed and in a hiring freeze at the moment, but as long as the signs are on a State Road and not behind the utility poles they are the States responsibility. 4951

For free...  I think it should be a penalty to the businesses.  They are awful but I would have to think about it...  Sort of like picking up other peoples trash.  If there were penalties it would be a little different IMO 4951

They are illegal, the issue is that the companies hire people that specialize in being sneaky and quick to place the signs.  Very rarely does a bandit sign person get caught in the act by law enforcement.  Law enforcement also looks at the issue as a nuisance rather than an actual crime.  4951

If you forward the information on the sign to the county attorneys office, they will prosecute. 4951

We put up signs when we have an estate sale... we put them up In the morning and take them down at 5:00...  I swear it seems we are the only one who pick them up everyday.I don't know how these companies do it.. those signs are NOT cheap. 4951

the law is the same for political signage on the right of way during elections. the candidate is supposed to be responsible for removing them and those signs put just off the right of way are supposed to be placed only with the property owner's permission. but the laws are constantly bent or broken for housing developments, pizza joints, psychics, political charlatans and all others as well 4951

@Kingwood Pressure Washing:

Maybe pitch this to some of the scout troops in the area. They may use this for volunteer hours. I hate these signs. No way to make them look classy. I cringe when I see them. 4951

I have seen yours in the am. Now that you say something, I don't really think I see them in the evening. 4951
