I LOVE restaurant threads.  Emoticon1. Chuy's Tex Mex is our go to when we're in the mood for Mexican food. It's not really "Mexican" but when I order a bean and cheese burrito covered with queso, I can forget all that.2. Red Curry Thai -- We rediscovered this place just a couple of nights ago. Excellent curry, maybe a little light on the chicken, but great flavor. Yummmm  One bowl would serve 3 people.3. Jax Hamburgers in Liberty -- I'm not going to be happy until someone on KDC goes there, orders their jalapeno burger, and then comes back to join my Jax fan club.  Emoticon4. Chick-fil-A -- Don't bother with Cane's.5. Sharkey's -- Another go-to. Pretty good Cobb salad, really good patty melt. My husband has been ordering their fish and chips sandwich. We really like the patio a lot.6. Italiano's -- My mouth waters whenever I drive by. I can taste the sweet, tart marinara sauce. yummmmm. Eggplant Parmesan every single time.7. Amadeo's -- I know it's a favorite of a lot of people here. It's very good and about 25-30% more expensive than Italiano's.8. Tularosa -- Again, some different opinions here. If you go during happy hour, the chips and salsa are free. I really, really like their Hatch chili relleno.9. Mencius -- Haven't been in a while but it could possibly be the best Chinese place in town.10. Chelsea Deli -- Overlook the fact that when something gets broken there, it pretty much never gets fixed. Their sandwiches are very good. Some people are insanely in love with their chili.11. 3 B's -- Went back there about 4 months ago, ordered their Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was amazingly good. We eat out probably more than we should.  Emoticon 4951

Chuys - awesome Tex-mex and Rita's
Cilantros - on KWD - awesome Tex-mex and Rita's and excellent service
Los Cucos - good Tex-mex and good bar for meetups and happy hour spot
Egg and I - BW at Wilson for breakfast
Sharkeys - seafood overlooking the water
Raffa's - awesome for a nice meal out.
Red Curry Thai
Zachary's - Cajun and live music
Tin Roof - off 1960 for BBQ
Christopher's - Atascocita for homestyle Italian
Carrabba's - semi local chain - decent menu, good wine and drinks
Savvas - I agree with FoFa - outstanding food, especially the gyros

Re: Tularosa, you might want to do a forum search and read the pros and cons, then judge for yourself. Very mixed reviews. I was a huge fan in the beginning but stopped going for several reasons.

Will add to my list as I think of places. 4951

Zachary's and Jason's. No longer impressed with Sharks on the water. Ate there last weekend. First the waiter brought the wtprong order; then he eventually returned with my fried shrimp order. Small amount of shrimp on a HUGE pile of French fries.  Our bill for four people was over $200 plus.  Not sure impressed. 4951

Chinese =1a) Oriental Gardens1b) Mencius3) Hunan Garden4) Hin's Garden5) JJ China DinerOriental Gardens and Mencius are so close in quality just each has different dishes that distinguish them.  I grew up on Oriental Gardens so it slightly tops Mencius.  I've actually eaten 99% of the menu at Oriental Gardens and about 20% of Mencius.  For Mexican, even though it's a chain I like Los Cucos best.  Chelsea Deli for sandwiches!TXButterfly, Nee Hao are you serious?  That's like Timmy Chan's quality.  Panda Express is even better than that.  I got food poisoning twice from there in one year.  Big portions, sure, but it's Mall quality food.  Absolute garbage.  Now 10+ years ago it was different 4951

Yes, it is very entertaining here. EmoticonHere are my faves:Mexican: Chachi's is the best hands-down in my opinionBut I also like Los Cucos or Cilantros at the front of Kingwood.Italian: Amedeo's (Located across from Lowe's on Loop 494)Italiano's in Humble is another option.Other favorites include:Chimicurri's & Raffa's (both on the Lake), La Madeline's, Union Kitchen > (good food/ but sometimes not so good service), and Skeeter's for great all-around menu of traditional items. 4951
