Okay Foodies and Friends.....there is a debate going on within the Showcase Kingwood team regarding the Food Truck Festival on Feb. 11.  Help me win out here.....I think we should contract with a local brewery and sell beer on the day so people can sit and taste the food trucks and enjoy a craft beer.  I want to rope off an area with some tables and chairs so people can eat, have a beer, and listen to music.  Some nay-sayers on the team say no, not enough "young people" in Kingwood to warrant the hassle of TABC permits/COH, expense and liability of serving, increased insurance coverage, extra police, etc.  Would the ability to have a craft beer at the event bring you in or turn you away?  Would it encourage you to invite others who would not otherwise come?  Please share your thoughts!!! 4951

Actually, the added bonus of a good beer, would sway me to come.
But that is just me. 4951

When I lived in Salt Lake (big craft beer town) most of the festivals did not have craft beer, just regular domestic beer. The craft beer places though were normally around the festivals, within walking distance so it worked out.  I like your idea but it comes down to economics. I don't think the craft community is that strong here, certainly not stronger that SLC and they went without it most of the time. Me though, I vote for it. I love craft beer but I don't want to see people losing money over it.   4951

If Back Pew can't, check with Spindletap Brewery another local brewery that is heavily marketing their new canned beers.

If there is no beer I'm not coming, lol.
Thanks for putting this together. It sounds very cool and like something my family and my friends would certainly be in to.

Is February 11 spring?

@BooBear: it sure seems that way this year....my poor trees doing their spring thing and me hoping they don't get zapped to badly with cold again.

@Veritas: Might get hit with a surprise front, like with the last one. I'd look toward mid-March or April, otherwise change the name, to pre-Spring,

Don't post often here, but I wanted to let you know that 2 friends of ours alerted us to this event a couple of weeks ago...then that kind of went viral with several more friends, etc. etc.! 😂

We all have this on our calendars and are totally attending!

Love the craft beer suggestion! Have you considered The Hop Stop in Humble? Best! IPAs! Ever! and super nice family-run biz! I can't imagine they would turn this down.

Local breweries would be good for all parties. Maybe they can apply for the permits and save you the hassle? 4951
