I got a flyer today that Houston councilman Dave Martin will meet with forest cove property owners to discuss widening hamblen road and adding left turn lane at forest cove drive and hamblen road. Is traffic really that bad on Hamblen? I don't know but it's going to be a headache if it goes forth. 4951

Maybe if they raise it a couple feet also, that would help more. It does get a lot of traffic during rush hour, as many use it as a short cut to KWD. Although it takes longer, during non-rush hours, it can save a little time during rush hour.
But if they can remove all those trees on Northpark up by the Kroger to widen it for a couple dozen cars, why not Hamblen? 4951

Not happy about this at all. More people using our neighborhood as a cut through to KWD. They don't stop, slow down as it is already. The area is also in a severe flood zone. That is why it is filled with pot holes and in disrepair. 4951

Didn't that come up before? It would cost too much I think was the reason. Although there have been expensive road and bridge construction all over Houston. 4951

It will happen at some time. Might as well bite the bullet. Take a lot of pressure off KWD.

Raising it is not an option. When it floods it's 5-6 ft above that road. One of the worse roads to even consider improving.   4951

I love this. I live in Forest Cove so that is my main way in and out. That road needs help bigtime. Its to narrow and full of potholes. Anything would be improvement over the way it is now. 4951

@beastmode:

Not always, a lot of minor flooding is less than foot, major flooding, is well, major flooding, you have to figure your just screwed in that case.

The turn around you can always right off if there is flooding anyway. 4951

That's what I keep saying! It's been on the planning for many years but they keep coming back to widening Hamblen!

I'm moving so it won't make a difference to us, but I really hate that my neighbors will be impacted by throwing more traffic on our poorly kept main artery to get in & out of our subdivision! But Kingwoodites keep fighting widening both their main roads. Do that first then come to FC! 4951

It would be a headache during the process but it would be worth it in the long run.  4951

Push Hamblen to Woodland Hills.......I actually think that was the plan along with greenbelt connections all the way to 59 bridge and the Spring Creek trailway. 4951

The hold up on Hamblen road is the speed limit.  Make it 60 Emoticon  And fix the dang pot holes in the road.

@Fallon:

Pot holes? Do you mean miniature retention ponds? 4951
