>> Premieres tonight. Sort of like Amazing Race meets The Fugitive.
Nine teams get one hour's notice to disappear and try to last 28 days on the run. If they succeed, they win $250,000.
@donnatella: No thanks, I had enough of that for a lifetime. Â November 17, 1987 while my wife was at home celebrating our oldest son's 1st birthday, I was busy running for what felt like my life as part of day 1 of the Army's SERE (level B) course. Â 21 days of a combination of tactical instruction and hands-on training. Â I can say without a doubt that I don't have to watch that show to assure you that the hunted were neither pursued like we were, nor treated like we were upon capture. Â All bravado aside, I promise that if you're tied to a bed spring and a grown man hits you repeatedly across your bare feet with a piece of garden hose, you'll have to nearly bite your tongue off not to talk. Â Name, rank, SSN, and feel free to weep openly. Â And you wonder why I'd kick a kitten...;-)
@shodan66:
I cant imagine, though I guess the point of that kind of training is to teach you to be able to shut off your emotions and not feel anything. Necessary for a soldier. I haven't watched but I'm hoping being captured in the show won't have quite that sever of consequences.
@BooBear:
I was a scout chopper pilot back in the day and it was something we all had to go through as you have a higher risk of ending up behind enemy lines and/or being captured.
@shodan66:
Seems like the best thing to do would be to not get caught. Hopefully they taught you that too.
@BooBear:
That's the first E! Â Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape.Â
@shodan66:
Sounds like something they should teach in high scchool..well except for the beating with a water hose part. That sounds painful.
@BooBear:
some people pay extra for that 4951
