So I'm in the midst of a move last week; not even a good story.

I got up during our heavy storms bc I wanted to see it from the patio; tripped on my shoes and face planted 220lbs w no brakes on the corner of my coffee table. Full energy.

Concussion. Like blood in the ears and vertigo concussion.

Ok now. Or at least the CT says I am :/

Ugh.

@Gramoda:

Thank you. No bright lights; exertion for at least five days as a benchmark.

Two wks as a total assessment.

Difficult bc I live by myself and no family close. My friends are going to check on me as necessary.

I also ruptured my ear drum (vertigo) so no water in my ears for at least two wks.

I didn't know head (impact) trauma could do that (ears). 4951

I'm surprised of that. I never was knocked out or lost consciousness.

I'll put that to my hard polish/irish skull. We can take a beating. ....

I'm not going to lie. That's the hardest shot I've ever taken to the head ever 4951

That is my biggest fear! I remember, quite a few years ago, I was fixing something to do with the curtain rods, above my windows in the great room. I just used a chair, but made sure it was a stationery chair with no wheels. Everything went fine until I stepped down onto the floor. My dog's stainless steel bowl happened to be right where I stepped so my foot slid forward about 3 feet and I fell down, hard, on my back, hitting my head on the tile floor. I saw stars, and my head hurt like a *****! I probably should have gone to the doctor, but didn't.

I hate that when you fall, your brain doesn't seem to register what's happening until you are down on the ground. Emoticon Hope you don't have any complications. Do everything they tell you, and if something doesn't seem right, but they tell you that you should be fine, push to get more testing. Concussions are a very serious matter and with the ear problem and vertigo in addition, that makes it even more serious. 4951

@ExBlue:

I rode it for three days; the fourth ear blood. Day five I felt very mentally confused; inept. Struggled w normal conversations. Vision was bad; couldn't walk. My neighbor took me to the ER. No way I could have driven.

I saw stars but after a latency period it got really bad. I was fine until 96hrs and following it went bad; quickly. 4951

If you waited that long, you're lucky you didn't slip into a coma. I learned a long time ago, when you lived by yourself, you have to be extra careful. If you are doing anything at all that could turn into an accident, I always call a reliable friend, tell them what I am doing and when I plan to be finished and then call them back to let them know that I am okay. You should be checking in with friends every few hours to let them know you are okay.

Also, I am sure you are using the forum to keep yourself busy, prevent boredom or whatnot, but I have a friend who had a terrible concussion and one of his side effects is that he cannot use a computer for long periods of time, because of the lighting that it produces. I would limit your computer usage a little bit, too. No, it's not that I don't want to see you posting, just don't want you to hurt your already traumatized brain too much. Did your doctor give you any guidelines related to computer usage? 4951

Two week mild/moderate conc and I was just to watch it.

I've killed all my TV because it gives me a headache. I just close my eyes and listen.
