I have a 5 month old kitten. My older cat has been miserable since I got her. I need suggestions on where to take her that is no kill shelter and available to take her today. 4951

She just slept in my lap all the way to CAP. My dh didn't want to pay the 30$ drop off fee.

So I'm guessing y'all didn't bother to vet the kitten because it was too much money too. SMH- do all of us in rescue a HUGE favor- don't get any more animals- most of us are tired,weary and short staffed of vetting, caring and finding homes for your throwaways.Heads up- the Christmas Throwaways have begun. 😢 4951

Yep, it takes time for cats to adjust to each other. Doesn't happen overnight but the finally do adjust if you do it correctly as well as give it time and patience. No way I could get a cat or dog and just give it up because it wasn't working to my likeing. Saw a post elsewhere that someone get their kids a hedgehog and were getting rid of it after two weeks... why bother...

$30 is not unreasonable to dump an animal that you wanted at one time. 4951

@Andreweggplant: yep very true- I have a zoo here-all throwaways. Some of them don't like each other but they have all learned to live with each other- and cats are probably the easiest to acclimate- a few fights and then it's over- they may not be best friends but they do learn to tolerate- lol even if it's a somewhat dignified indifference.

@santanamom, you should be completely ashamed of yourself and your husband.  So, you just start trying to rehome a kitten today, before noon, and state that she needs to be gone today?!  4951

So what are you going to do w/ the cat if you didn't leave at CAP?  And you never answered if it had any vetting?Is it a male/female?  I may have someone interested 4951

@Queen_of_Spayeds:
I think they left it at CAP. Too bad the OP didn't have the courtesy to respond but I guess that was better than turning it out to the streets when you are in a hurry to rid yourself of a pet. Should not be allowed to own another pet...

Really, $30 is too much?  Geez, I hope you guys don't ever get another pet.  Whoever you rehome/shelter it with with either have to spend money to euthanize it or to do vaccinations, an exam, photos/photographer, advertising, food, time, etc.  $30 is a bargin for them to take in a kitten. 4951
