@CantStandTex: It is one of the last true country songs. The majority of the new stuff isn't country.
@SmurfySuzi: There's still plenty of really good proper country music being written and played, you just have to get away from the Nashville stuff and shop local.  The Texas/Red Dirt/Americana scene is loaded with singers/bands that still write and play their own music and it's not the pop crap that you'll hear on the hick-hop stations.Check out http://tunein.com/radio/KIKK-1003-HD-2-s102736/  or http://www.959theranch.com/pages/22746891.phpYou might even hear my #2 son playing on The Ranch with the Brad Cunningham Band.  ;-)

This! Â I'm not a purist by any means, but modern country is pop music basically, the only thing my untrained ears can tell is that there may or may not be a steel guitar, and it's sung with a country accent. Â Some of it's catchy, but mostly vanilla stuff, my daughter loves it though.. Â Not saying it's bad, it's just not for me.I love the red dirt Americana, Texas country stuff. Â Most of the new stuff I have found that I like are coming from those genres. 4951
