I had planned to watch it.  Maybe I'll catch up. I find it funny that a sci-fi author created a new religion! 4951

I had planned to watch it, but just haven't yet.  I have read plenty of news stories regarding the Scientologists views about the show though.  It has been more than enough to make me want to watch an ex-member's viewpoint.L.Ron Hubbard was a great writer - bat**** crazy, but great writing. 4951

I'm watching. So fascinated by how crazy it all is & how people get sucked into it. I would be like oh you want $ Bye Felicia. I just don't understand how I could send my child somewhere & be raised by some one else & then told I could not leave or see my family. A bunch of whack a doodles 4951

If you think about it all religions believe in an alien(s) coming to earth. Scientology just admits they are aliens.  4951

@SmurfySuzi: For sure are not the followers of Jim Jones Peoples Temple they follow him until the end. Did they not?  I cannot comprehend the thinking of any individual who follows a knucklehead nonsense like Ron Hubbard (1955). Would Stephen King get as many followers if he decides to form one more needed-cult?

"I’d like to start a religion. That’s where the
money is."
- L. Ron Hubbard to Lloyd Eshbach in 1949, quoted by Eshbach in
OVER MY SHOULDER: REFLECTIONS ON A SCIENCE FICTION ERA. Donald M.
Grant Publisher, 1983----------------------------------------------------L. Ron Hubbard found success writing
pulp/science fiction, but as he declared in the late 1940s: "Writing
for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a
million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion." 4951

@Retired_Engineer:

I'm sure that's the thinking of Joel Osteen, though he would never say the words outloud!

IMO the only tv preacher who really cared about the Salvation on the listener was/is Billy Graham! The rest are entertainers with their hands in your pockets!
