that our 28 year old daughter got a tattoo on her leg.  She teaches music, and performs in several choirs including the Houston Symphony Orchestra Choir.  She loves music.  The tattoo is a combination of musical notes that she designed herself.  I was surprised at first, but tattoos are pretty common these days. She works, lives in an apartment, and doesn't ask for money, so I'm OK with it. I told her that I was thinking about getting piercings in my ears, nose, tongue, and nipples.  She replied "I'd like to see that", so I called her a pervert! 4951

@CantStandTex:  NO THANKS!  There are some questions, or rather the ANSWERS, that a father does not want to know about his daughter.

I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and successfully hid it for 3 years from my Grandmother.  The first time she saw it she asked why I had a bruise on my ankle, it's a tiny one on the inside of my left ankle.  I told her it was a tattoo and even at 21 years old I sat there feeling worse and worse about my decision to finally show her that tattoo as she ranted for 30 minutes about disfiguring my body.  I hid the rest of my tattoos from her to save us all the stress.  Kudos to you for accepting your daughters decisions and even kidding her about body mods of your own.  Although, if you do get them I'm sure you could find an awesome chain to connect them all. 4951

@Retired_Engineer My son's college coach told the team they could pierce anything but by doing so they were consenting to a piercing of their nose bridge done by him.  No piercings on that team.  On the other hand, that same young man was informed he is invited to take the advanced sommelier test which is the penultimate test prior to master. 4951

Here is a picture of her tattoo.  She describes it as 2 bass clefs morphed into a treble/infinity sign.  To me, it looks kind of like Yin/Yan.  What do I know, but it looks cool.  I like symmetrical things. 4951

@SmurfySuzi:  I wish my daughter had a grandmother to hide it from.  Both have passed, as well as my father.  Debbie's Dad is still with us and it won't matter to him.  Debbie's half-sister has several tattoos.

@ Retired_Engineer: My Grandmother has passed in the years between then and now.  I still fondly remember her lecturing me about my first tattoo right before making sure I had food to eat in my fridge.  I think the chain would add a certain classiness.  LOL 4951

I am a senior & don't have problems with a small tattoo.  You are wise to zip it.... After all, she is a good girl & her tattoo is not hurting anyone! 4951
