Make sure you don't wait in line and just go to the blue door and ring the bell.  They don't tell you what to do and you can wait in line for an hour and then have to stand at the door after that.  Good luck.  It took me 30 minutes to pick up one letter last Wednesday and there was only one person in front of me. 4951

I'm having a similar issue with them. I had a package sent to a friend, the tracking website shows it was delivered Tuesday. That friend never recieved the item or a notice to come pick it up and they were home when the mail Carrier stopped by. 4951

Yep,  I ahve a package that shows it has been at the post office since the 10th.  No one can find it and it has not been delivered to my house.  It is annoying as it was a UPS hand off the the USPS.

Same thing happened to us.  Mail carrier left the pick up slip in the box; I was home at the time.  The postal service in Kingwood is extremely poorly managed and nothing ever improves. 4951

One way to avoid the Kingwood office.  The clerks there seem to have two speeds faltering between slow and stop.  Personally I would not want their job.  Dealing with some of the people I've witnessed in line....packages poorly wrapped and incomplete addresses.  Then the arguing over the price to ship a large package.Hint:  Try the post office in Porter.  Went there yesterday before going to Walmart and there was only one person in line.  Sent two overseas Christmas cards. The clerk advised me to use "World Stamp" to mail any letters anywhere in the world.   Kingwood office appears to not know anything about it and charged me more to mail a card to Spain.Other suggestion.....the airport office on 1960 just West of Humble.  Multiple knowledgeable clerks and more of them.  Worth the trip to just avoid the stress of Kingwood. 4951

USPS needs a major overhaul. I can't say that all clerks are less than personable or slower than molasses, but I would say the majority of them seem to be! Probably the biggest joke of all is the USPS tracking for packages and mail. There have been many times when I have tracked a shipment online, and it was delivered before it said it left the origin post office. Once, I received a "delivered" email update THREE DAYS after I received my package! With today's electronic technology, there is no excuse for this! Maybe USPS needs to hire someone from FedEx, UPS or DHL and straighten that place out! 4951

@doddlebug: So you don't like Cops or Postal workers...you have something against public servants?

@calguy:
Yup I also will make the trek out to either the porter or new caney post offices. Usually not much of a line and the clerks are actually willing to help you out!
