You go down there and rattle some cages? Hard to believe they would miss twice. 4951

Be careful with Wells Fargo. Years ago, my husband did research on a refinance. The interest rate was phenomenal - until I read the loan papers and discovered their rates were not as good as they seemed. It ended up their rates were listed as one rate, but you could not lock in until after your closing and then the rate was going to lock in something like 1 to 3 points - above a certain percentage of prime! Um, no, just no, no, no! Lucky for me, I have a relative that lives out of state and does closings for a living. I sent her the docs and she said I was reading them correctly and it was a horrible deal/rate. We showed up for the signing and I asked them very pointed questions, which had been provided to me by my relative. The person who was supposed to handle our closing couldn't answer our questions and had her manager come over. After I asked my questions, we thanked them for their time and walked out. We would have ended up with an interest rate close to a credit card! 4951

The only reason I went them is I already had the mortgage with them for 11 years and   was going from 6.25% to 3.375% cutting 4 years off my loan. 4951

We refinanced twice with them without a problem. One they actually initiated at a lower rate for us. 4951

@mikeveronica:

I am totally serious, read how they compute the rate and make sure it is a set rate at the time you sign. Our papers said we could lock in within 3 to 5 days or something like that. It wouldn't have mattered, because the market was super steady at the time, but the way they listed the lock in rate was a bunch of BS. It was like a classic case of bait and switch. 4951

We've used this LO twice.  She is awesome.  They called us weekly with updates, and if there was nothing to update, they called anyway to check in.  I'm sure if you emailed/called her with questions, she'd be happy to answer them...  She will run numbers for you.Jennifer HernandezLegacy Mutual MortgageThere is a "Refinance - The Process" video on this page:https://jennifer.legacymutual.com/pages/hernandez-videos 4951

Just be glad this isn't a new home purchase that they are delaying. When I was in the title business, Wells Fargo was always one of those difficult lenders to work with. For some reason they just can't get their stuff together, then blame someone else for dropping the ball. Keep on top of them, that's about all you can do at this point... 4951

Also, if that is a true rate, and your rate is being reduced by that much, I hope you had them evaluate a much shorter loan time. Often times, you can cut your length of loan by years, or in half, and you're only paying a $100 - $150 more per month, but you're cutting your interest and payoff time in half! 4951

@Maisey1:

LOL! When we refinanced our home, we went to sign our papers and the loan company we had signed up with to do our refinance, had already sold our loan to Wells Fargo, before we even showed up for our closing! One more year, just one more year!!! This time next year, I am going to be doing the happy dance! Well, until my preciously escrowed taxes become due. Emoticon 4951
