We had a group of eight for dinner on Thanksgiving....and it was great. Now we just finished doing up all the dishes and glass ware.  Now what do we do with all the left over food?  Much of It went home with our guest, but?The most enjoyable part of the cocktail hour and dinner was the political conversations.  Our close friends are a group of both Democrats and Republicans....some a little more vehement than others.I must say that our group had their say and it was kept very civil and polite.   Guess  we sometimes can't say that about political related postings on this forum, can we?One common thought that we all agreed upon was that the majority expressed a fear of the unknown of where PE Trump will take us.Aren't you the least bit concerned about our government and country?Or are you one of the herd that will just go along and accept what happens? For those who want a source of my posts.....I am the soul source...no plagiarism here.  {Please note Starbucks!} 4951

Yes, I am nervous about Trump and where he will take us, but I am also optimistic. I feel hopeful that with Trump's business experience, he can get jobs and the economy going and stop corporations from taking their businesses to other countries. I think we should support him and stop all the negative and "what ifs" and give the man a chance. 4951

I think so too. Hillary was going to take us down the rabbit hole even more than Obama. I think this is a change, a reset. We've tried politicians and we've seen where we've got from them.

I was concerned after the 2008 and 2012 elections. Turns out I should have been.We will be just fine the next 8 years with DT.For Thanksgiving, our 14 guests were very civil. I did, however, begin the conversation with an announcement that anyone dissing DT would have to use Bernie's (our old Westie) pain pills after the punishment because we do not keep human meds in the house. 4951

@mdizzle:  Great video!  As a former Republican-leaning person that is now somewhere in the middle, I think he hits the nail on the head!  I am very consevative on some issues but very liberal on other issues.  I don't understand the unfettered allegiance most people have to one political party or the other. My wife still leans Republican, but our two kids are Democrats.   When we discuss politics, it is in a respectful manner.
