There's a good one that's more of a mom-n-pop about 15 miles west on 1314, about half a mile past the outdoor range I go to (Thunder Range), called, MacDaddy's. Don't judge by the name, like I almost did. Glad I decided to give him a shot. He's already worked on my AR and .50 Beowulf, and going to be taking another of my rifles to him to have the barrel threaded for my silencer this week.His # is: 936-231-3737 4951

There's another....a small gun shop and smith location in Porter. He's in the same business area as the thrift store past 494 and Ford: left hand side before the turn to Wal Mart.

Cannot attest to work however....never had anything done there. 4951

Robertson's GunsmithHe is in New Caney  281-399-1684.  I may have the last numbers mixed up, it may be 1648.We have used him for years.  From appraisals for antique guns, to repair work, to anything really.  He is one of the most knowledgable people on guns you will meet.  Really nice man.  He is out in the middle of no where.  He has a shop beside his house.  Nothing fancy, but he is really good.

@Fallon: I can attest to his work and does a great job. He has worked on several of my guns with no issues. The location is not that bad and I actually like his shop and he sometimes lets you stay and watch his work depending on the job.

I suggest trying some different ammo first, some guns prefer certain brands more than others, as far as the shape on the end, and a lot of times its the claw that is not going forward enough to grab around the casing to eject it. 4951

@Steven H:

Good point. Should try running some quality match grade through the weapon first. 4951
