Anybody suffer with chronic headaches? What did the doctor recommend?
I have an appointment in 2 weeks to see if the doctor has any suggestions for why the nave been having headaches almost everyday for the past couple months. They are debilitating nauseating headaches. Even my migraine RX doesn't help.

The pain is in the frontal lobe and face. 4951

@foxymama:

Probably related to estrogen levels. Men have very little estrogen and women naturally have high levels, some more than others.

When I was having migraines all the normal migraine type medicines either didn't help or I had side effects that made those medicines not viable for my use, so my Doctor put me on Topamax. Topamax is an antiseizure medicine, but in lower doses usually reduces the severity and frequency of migraines. You have to take it daily, not just when you get a headache or migraine, but it really helped for me.

On a natural healing note.... peppermint oil on the temples, when you feel the headache coming on, will help reduce the headache. 4951

I would check out a Chiropractor who has knowledge of food allergies to take a look. 4951

If possible their etiology should be determined before any remedy can be pursued.  Prophylaxis is more likely if the etiology is identified. Otherwise. you are into the realm of pain management and its many potential benefits and risks.Chronic headaches cause an average of 1.5 workdays per month for their sufferers rendering many of them unemployable at a tremendous cost to the economy. 4951

I feel your pain. Pretty sure mine is sinus related. Head just feels twice as heavy as usual. Have you tried sudafed or benedryl?

May I suggest you read up on Magnesium. Magnesium deficiency is very common and the cause of a few health problems. 4951

I take Topamax for both migraines and seizure treatment.  It is called dopamax by many who take it b/c of it's side effects. I also have Naratriptan for when I feel a headache coming on.  If that, resting, etc does not help, I have "rescue" meds.  Those usually knock me out and make it so I really don't care. 4951
