I have a few questions for someone who may be or know a respiratory therapist. I've been deciding between nursing or rt and I'm currently leaning towards rt. Just curious about the job market, if it be a huge impact since I only plan on getting my associates and a couple other things. I tried to look online but everything I found was dated. 4951
My oldest is an RT at Hermann Children's downtown. She hasn't had a problem having either full time or PRN work. They are needed. @stealth83 could maybe answer more questions on the demand side. 4951
Have you looked into PTA? Its an assoc. makes much more than RTEdit, on second look, RT makes more than they used to, or atleast what i thought they used to. Go with RT 4951
I am a radiographer.  Granted I have been out of the work force for 5 years but I attend 24 hrs of continuing education classes biannually.  So I still talk to people in the field.  And if you go the X-ray route you will be probably want to continue and get certified in CT. Since more and more hospitals are requiring multiple modality technologists.  It is only one more semester. 4951
