we purchased 2 new vehicles 3 months apart this year & we park them in our over sized 2 car garage ...to make a long story short ...Hubby was backing out of the garage & came too close to the other car & put a nice 21/2 inch scratch in the back quarter panel of the other car . This morning he is taking the car to get the scratch "fixed" . He will not talk about it , if I had put the scratch on the car I would still be hearing about it clear into the day I died . Why is it that men find it so hard to accept "blame". 4951

Because if you had not parked improperly it need not have happened. 4951

I like how you say over sized garage yet you still park too close haha My coworkers wife called him legit crying because she got "stuck" in a sonic parking space. Came back the next day shaking his head she scratched up the whole side of her car somehow. 4951

@WJo: We got a new truck this year and it's the same way with my DH.  I'm actually driving the older car that he used to drive and he still grumps about dings on that one - that were there before I started driving it.

Scratches don't bother me just drive it. A perfect car gets hit every time. 4951

Of course, you could just give him a hard time about it.  Maybe surround his car with bubble wrap or something. 4951

@WJo: It's because I'm almost perfect.  EmoticonI do periodically admit I made a mistake. It's rare, but it happens.  My wife and daughter love it when I do that and remind me quite often! When I was talking to my daughter last week about health insurance options, I told her that her mother could help her better than I could.  She asked "Why?", and I admitted that she studies our health insurance options a lot closer than I do.  Also, she goes on Medicare next year and has been doing research about Advantage plans and other options.  I told my daughter not to tell her mother that, but two minutes after we hang up, she called her mother and told her!  It's a female conspiracy!  Emoticon

The best story we have is soon after we were married, my wife scratched/dented both of our cars on the same day.  She left from our apartment in her '73 Pinto and didn't notice someone had piled a bunch of stuff next to the street for the garbage man.  She got too close and put a scratch down the side of her car.  It wasn't that bad, but she got upset and went around the block to come home.  I told her it was no big deal, so after she calmed down, she took my '73 Oldsmobile Cutlass to run her errand.  On the way back, as she passed a church, a guy backed into her as she was passing by.  The dent was not bad.  The guy was getting married the next day and was distracted.  By the time she got home, I didn't think she would ever drive again....but she got over it.edited:  BTW, guess who ended up driving the un-airconditioned Pinto and who drove the airconditioned Cutlass?  4951

@mulmye...nice try , but hubby parked both cars , I had nothing to do with the scratch or parking the vehicles. He had been in the attic putting down a new floor so he had pulled both vehicles out of the garage the day before , so it was 100% his fault. 4951

@retired_engineer...you sound just like my husband , I think all men are cut from the same cloth , it just takes a good woman to show them the correct way to act, think & behave in public (LOL).Without us all men would be lost in wrinkled clothes & stay hungry & sleeping with the remote control....(LOL) 4951

@SmurfySuzi...it's a good thing all women have strong toes or we wouldn't be able to wear those 6 inch heels the men all think look sexy (LOL). I quit wearing heels 20 years ago , best decision I ever made . I love my "Reeboks" 4951
