Note to parents at KPHS:I want to inform you of an incident that was reported to us today. Yesterday at approximately 3:05 p.m. a student who was walking home from the bus stop near Lake Village Drive and Whispering Forest Drive noticed a car was following her. The student ran to her house. The car parked at the end of her street, then parked outside her house for about 10 seconds before driving off. The car is described as a silver four-door, newer model car with tinted windows.KPHS staff reported the incident to Humble ISD police, and they will be patrolling the area. This is a good opportunity to talk with your students about personal safety:• Walk to and from school in groups.• If anything unusual occurs, please tell an adult immediately. Parents and teachers need to know right away what happened.• Never talk to strangers or accept rides from them.• Don’t panic. If you are afraid or have a problem, call a parent or a trusted adult.• Arrange for immediate access to neighbors and to other trusted adults who could answer questions or be contacted in an emergency.• Tour the neighborhood to identify safe and dangerous circumstances and places.• Never tell people at the door, on the phone or internet that you are home alone. Say your parents are busy and offer to take a message.• Keep your house key hidden. Don’t give it to anyone and don’t keep it in a visible place that would tell people you are going home to an empty house.Lisa Drabing, PrincipalKingwood Park High School 4951

Thanks for the information. My daughter school in Crosby was in lockdown along with the other nearby schools about an hour ago due to a stabbing which occurred in Walmart in 2100. Have that conversation fast people. 4951

This one was just added for today:Dear Elm Grove Elementary Parents,I wanted to make you aware of an incident that was reported to me today by a parent. As two of our students, a boy and a girl, were walking home from school near the park at the intersection of Sycamore Springs and Birch Haven, a forest green truck was parked at the curb. When the students walked by the truck a young man with a red shirt and pimples on his face got out of the truck and yelled at the students, "I am going to kill you and your family." The students ran away and the girl called her parents. The mother reported the incident to our school, and also to local police. We reported the incident to Humble ISD Police, who will patrol the area near our school at dismissal time. Sincerely,Cassie Pfeifer, Assistant PrincipalElm Grove Elementary 4951
