@BeadweaverHow are y'all doing? Â You just popped into my head a little bit ago while I was driving down Northpark... and I thought, "Oh no - the hurricane!"Are y'all safe? Â I can't recall what part of FL y'all moved to.... Â Hope all is well!! Â
@terilyntx:
Thanks for asking. That goes for everyone.
I'm hanging in here. Been gone 2 1/2 months and 3 hurricanes. Roughly one every 3 weeks. Lol
Trying to move in has been a heck of a ride.
First order of business was to get rid of the housemate. She wasted oxygen and space. Lol
If the rains would stop I'd be able to nest. Been pulling things out and packing them up safe. Lol
I think my coat closet is now the guitar rack. They're in there more than coats. Forst day here I returned the truck and ran into the farmer/flea and bought my old man a beater beach guitar. Lol 1st purchase. That's 3 guitars and 1 ukulele in 2 years. I need to find something else to buy him.
I just set up my glass kiln but need to pack it up safe. I did however get all the shelves up in my studio and can pack em tight and close those doors.
Our first beach visit to Jacksonville beach, we got run off by a snotty 8 yr old demanding no dogs after 9am. Lol Went to the ritzy part of town after Hermine for paddle races but it was called off due to rip currents. It was a fun day though. Hank's first run into the ocean and chase waves. High tide was coming in and the beach got to small for the amount of peeps and surfboards. Waters are warm like 80 plus. It's been half a century since I dipped my toes into the Atlantic Ocean. Felt so good.
Most days have been triple digits so ole Hank has been laying about. I think he wants in the pool, but he hasn't tried yet. He need a life jacket.
Love having a pool 3 steps from the back door again. Been a decade. No salt water like my Arizona pool. We've talked about conversion already.
Evening temperatures have been blissfully in the mid high 70's and really no skeeters to speak of.
I do know no matter how many himicanes come through, we made the right move.
Now if I can get out of the vacation mood. Lol
Breakfast lunch and dinner poolside, before and after dinner cocktails, owls, ibis, iguanas, osprey, all in my yard. Oh the park is two blocks away with a nice family area, workout benches along the trails, and a fishing pond. I'm hoping to catch the community center open to teach art classes to anyone who walks in.
We have a flea/farmers market open Wednesday through Sunday and the food is all organic. It's 5 miles down the street and I go two days a week, never having the same old same old. Being so close to Georgia, we get the best of both.
I'll post a few pics. I don't know how to do multiples so bare with me please.
