Bought a 4K Samsung smart TV a year ago. Great TV. Be careful with Best Buy. Salesperson will try to steer you to certain TVs. I don't have cable TV but the TV shows the programming for my outdoor antenna which is nice. Not much content for 4K but it is improving on Amazon, other sites/apps. I also got a nice swivel wall mount at Lowes for $50 also a great buy. 4951

All Samsung all the way. Find the one you like and buy it from andromeda or buydig online- out of state, much cheaper than any boxstore sale, no sales tax, and buy it black friday week. TVs are one item that always come down that week. 4951

I'm also sold on Samsung. Second would be Toshiba. Sony is over-priced. My Insignia had terrible sound and the tv only last 5 years. And Visios are cheap for a reason as well. 4951

On our third Samsung, as the prices fall we get larger displays ( 52", 60" and now 65")
All have outstanding picture, nobody buys them for their sound qualities. We always buy in the fall as despite what they say the prices are always best then. If you aren't in a rush you will find a great price - and will usually find the sale price virtually the same at all stores and online. 4951

I also vote Samsung.  I had a Sharp that I like however it pixelated before a year was up.  They replaced it with a refurbished TV and it has been OK.  I bought it at Best Buy but I knew what I wanted going into the store so the sales people could not push me another way.  Sam's and Costco seem to have really good prices on TV's lately... 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt: Best Buy had a 65 UHD vizio for 899 which is a great price but when I researched it I found I had to use my phone for the remote.

@staylifted: I looked at some LG's and they seem to have good pictures also.  I was at sears yesterday and saw even Kenmore makes tv's now, not that I would buy one.

@Fallon

Excellent post. Amazon reviews have always steered me in the right direction on any product. Just use common sense when reading them. Some may have been written by the company selling and a few by competitors. But looking at the whole picture you can get a pretty good reading on what real people say.

Samsung is the best.  They always have a great picture and seem to hold up for a long time.  Don't buy from Sam's Club.  Seems like they have an awful lot of them returned.  When you go to buy it you need to know what you want before you get there.  It gets confusing when the salesman gets started.  Samsung LED is great.    4951
