This seems to be an especially bad year for fire ants. 4951

I've used apple cider vinegar before, and that seems to do the trick. Just pour it directly into their nest and around the perimeter of the nest. Haven't had to use any store bought stuff yet, so unfortunately I can't help you there. Good luck! 4951

Lincoln Electric "inferno" torch kit.

Mounts to a propane tank and unleashes fire to take care of them peskys.

If you have the tank (same as your gas grill) you just hook it up and burn.

For me....I find solace in fighting fire ants with.....FIRE! Emoticon .....those bastards. Lol

Sounds like a lot of fun!!
It might be a little risky using that method INSIDE the house, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks!! 4951

I buy the "RAID" bait traps ...I sit them inside & outside & the ants come eat & take some back to their nest where they eat & die ...no ant problems this year . The package comes with 8 to 12 clear plastic units & you cut off the flat end & it opens the unit so the ants can get in & feed . I paid $5.79 for an 8 pack it worked so well I went back & purchased the 12 pack for $8.97 at Lowe's 4951

I don't know about eco friendly but I have purchased some terrific pesticides at the pest supply store by Italiano's in Humble close to Deerbrook Mall. It isn't cheap but we have treated three houses for more than three years on one bottle. They love it when you can bring in a sample of the offending pest so they can match you to the best product. 4951

Use borax but it also kills grass I have a huge circle in 1 spot but they are gone. I just bought pesticide spray for around house but borax works inside & out. They can't cross it bc it cuts up their exoskeleton bleed out. 4951

I swear the old lawn company brought fire ants to my yard last year. I tried the boiling water and vinegar, but Amdro is what finally worked for me. I would love to try that fire thingy though!    4951
