As most of you know, Joe is a dog lover...Big time! Well, that holds true for most all of the staff here. Yesterday (8/22/16), we had a visit from two adult female doggies. They were pretty wore down, and looked like they'd been on the run for a bit. A few of us went outside in the rain to look them over. The Lab was definitely older than the Boxer, both were skinny, and they've been moms to God knows how many litters. Anyway, one of our production gals decided to take them to the vet to check for chips. {By the way, she recently lost her own 14-year-old female companion to cancer.} We all walked her out to her pickup and the two dogs followed. She opened the passenger door, and they hopped up in as if they'd done it 1,000 times. The next time I hear from her is when she sends me the pic below...From her kitchen. They weren't chipped, so she took them home to get cleaned up and fed. Emoticon I don't know what made them stop at our office...Maybe they just knew it was the right place.I have seen these two together before in the Forest Cove area, so they might have been on their own for sometime. However, just to be sure, let me know if you have any info on them, their possible owners, if you've seen them before, etc..Emoticon  4951

That's how I ended up with my cat. While we were at the lake he just came right up to us like we were his best friend and refused to leave the porch. He was so skinny and full of fleas so when the weekend was over I took him home. My sil lives in the community where we found him to keep a look out for lost signs, but none were ever posted. He has been with us 2 years now is the best cat I have ever had. It's like he just knew he was suppose to live with us. 4951

Nice, you can see the lab's tail wagging as a blur in the background. My old lab used to wag her tail so hard I thought it might just fly off! If it hit your leg it really hurt! 4951

Just adorable babies!! My B.O.B. (Big Ole Boy) was rescued from side of road by me 14 yrs ago. He has been the best dog ever. Last week, he was diagnosed with terminal spleen cancer after a checkup to find out why he started peeing in the floor (his only symptom besides bloated belly). Vet is only continuing Rimadyl, which he has been taking for arthritis. Does anyone know about pain relief for dogs with cancer? While the Rimadyl works now, I am afraid he will develop a tolerance for it before he passes or gets to a point for euthanasia. BTW, his vet is 494 Clinic and the one vet didn't pick up on the cancer at previous check up in May, but this second vet there did. 4951
