I would like to know why KDC has prohibited the private sale of firearms advertising within the classifides:

The advertising of such is not, and has never been illegal.

Private weapon sales, nor advertising are not prohibited via current law.

P2P sales are also not prohibited nor is such trade currently restricted.

Again....please advise??

Personal vendetta?

I have never sold on this site but I would really like to know why one feels I cannot.

@TXtransplant: I have nothing against guns but feel that regulations regarding the private sale of firearms are too loose for me to participate in promoting those sales on this web site. If there were a law requiring a mandatory background check on buyers I'd be a lot more comfortable with it.I do understand that some of the recent shootings would not have been prevented by a background check. I'm more concerned with potential criminals going down the list of ads and contacting firearm sellers on my site until they find someone who won't ask questions ( we have gotten reports of this ). I understand that criminals will always find ways to get around rules to get guns -- but I still don't want my site to be the conduit through which they do it.I don't dislike guns...I can see their value for self defense, hobby and sport. If I didn't own a giant pitbull, I'd probably keep one at home for self defense.  I understand this is a judgment call and reasonable people can disagree on the issue.Other big sites like eBay, Facebook and Instagram have taken the same no-gun-sales policy on their sites.Hope that makes the position clear.--J[ Edit: Because commas ]

Private sales are not illegal and to the letter of law the burden of proof falls amongst consenting adults.

Sadly I consider this another act of unwarranted censorship.

I will continue to be a member here but I must strongly state of this stance being dead wrong.

Thank you for your comment.

Lastly Facebook and Ebay are .com silicon valley CA enterprises that openly support liberal second amendment restrictions and fund the DNC.

Not a legitimate comparison in my opinion.

I don't really think it matters if gun sales between private parties are legal or not. The website is privately owned and the owner sets the rules. From what I have observed the owner is pretty tolerant of what is posted other than obvious advertising or self promotion. It's obvious that quite a few members of this forum own guns and exercise their 2nd amendment rights but their are plenty of other websites that are for gun sales. Just the 2 cents of a long time gun owner. 4951

Years ago when I took the Houston Chronicle way before computers were around I used to check out the gun sales in the classified ads. At the time I was always looking for a good deal on a shotgun like an old Browning. Eventually more of the ads were for CDL classes or hunting leases. I'm pretty sure the Chronicle doesn't even allow gun ads for private sellers now. So just did a search and sure enough I only found gun safes and ads for gun shows. Times sure have changed. I put a gun up for sale 2 years ago at the Texas Gun Trader website. I was selling my FiL's old M1-Garand. I got lots of low ball offers and I had already had the gun appraised so I knew it's value. But it felt like Craig's List and I was a bit worried about people wanting to come to my house to look at it. I ended up just keeping it. 4951
