Just got back from a 7 day cruise...  Ports of call were.. Belize, Roatan and Cozumel. We had a fantastic time, however I was NOT really impressed with the ship... Room was larger than I thought with great storage...Food - the buffet was much smaller than I expected...  Times that the buffet were open were awkward.  Guys Burger Bar had the best hours.Pools and Hot Tubs -  This is my biggest complaint with this boat.. Pools were VERY small more like a large hot tub....  shoulder to shoulder is NOT my idea of a relaxing swim... lolDrinks - expensive , but I found them to be pretty strong with a dollar tip... lolStaff - friendly, boat clean, Activities and Activity Crew - were lacking in my opinion..Comedians were great, Ports were fantastic, Excursions were amazing....   Casino was ......well lets not even talk about the Casino, I will still recovering from my losses.... 4951

I'm glad to hear your review, we will be on this ship for new years headed to key west and the Bahamas. I have done 2 other carnival cruises and agree with the pool thing - it's not much bigger than a hot tub and filled with kids! We tried to avoid the pool area as much as possible. 4951

@Maisey1: Be sure to find the Serenity Deck -  No one under 21.  That is where I went for quiet reading time....  A few girls tried to sneak in claiming to be 24 lol  - they were escorted out quickly.

Great you enjoyed it, did you use a travel agent or booked it yourself. Just curious if there is a savings? 4951

I found that on my Carnival Cruise.  It was perfect...   I guess I was a bit let down with Carnival since my first cruise was on Royal Carribean.   The islands Carnival went to made up for the let downs on the ship.

That's an awesome itinerary. We loved Roatan. I agree about the placement of the hot tubs and pools. One year we were on a RCL cruise and spent a lot of time in the hot tubs, which were right in front of the huge movie screen. In fact, that's where we watched the Super Bowl that year. Loved the Guy Fieri burgers, though, on the Carnival ship. 4951

We took the Freedom to the same ports in February and really enjoyed it. We have cruised the other itineraries on the Magic but this was a first on the Freedom for us. Also, the first time we had an oceanview instead of a balcony. We enjoyed it because of the other dining options like Blue Iguana and Guy's because we normally don't eat in the MDR. It's usually only the two of us and with anytime dining you have to sit extremely close to people you don't know for a long period of time and the food isn't that great. I would just go for dessert if I could ; )We enjoyed Roatan as well, got off early and got a front row spot on the free beach. It was absolutely amazing. Only Carnival can use that beach so it was nice. Belize we didn't really care for because it was a long tender and we don't book excursions so it wasn't a place to be without anything booked. We just shopped and ate/drank at the port. Cozumel we have been 4 times but finally tried Mr. Sanchos which was SUPER worth it. It was windy that day but later on the wind calmed down. For $55 pp all you can eat and drink, we had a blast. EmoticonOnly bad thing was my husband did get sick. We just sat in the room for the day/night (luckily it was a sea day) and sweated out his 101.8 fever. We didn't lose too much in the casino because my husband put $1 in one of the grab machines and caught $100 on the first try. It was also nice having them enforce the adults only pool on the back of the boat.  4951

so would you do a cruise again on the ship or tell you friends to go?

@SwaggyG: I love cruising and I loved the ports...   this boat was not my favorite boat.  All and all a great time though.

Belize was amazing !!!!!  We snorkeled the reef...   It is a long boat ride to get to the reef however the snorkeling was amazing...   We saw tons or Rays - we literally were able to reach out and touch them...  Several really large barracuda, two 5-6 foot sharks, eel, plus all the colorful tropical fish...   It was worth the long boat ride... 4951
