Does anyone know of a good dermatologist in the area? I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Smith. 4951

@TEXANSCHICK:

I can't recommend her enough! Plus, every time I see her, she wants to trade her teen for my toddler. Silly girl. 😆 4951

@Nicole4647: If you like Dr. Smith why are you looking for another dermatologist?

@donnatella: LOL!  Sorry, I did not see the "not" in her statement.  I should pay better attention.

Looks like Dr. Bell it is. Thank yall.
Like I said, I'm not a fan of the other Dr. It's not that I don't like him but he put me on medicine I will have to take my whole life that has a lot of side effects when there is a minor surgical treatment that is perminate. He told me it was expensive because insurance doesn't cover it. I have been calling on and off for almost a year now to get a price but still haven't received an answer. I do appreciate him looking out for my pocket book but at the same time, when you have had this issue since you were a kid and you finally saved up enough money for the procedure, im tired of waiting. Now that it has been over a year, he has to see me again. Just like lasik, I would much rather pay a nice chuck of change now then have to buy medicine my whole life. 4951

Honestly most dermatologist are booked months in advance if you are a new patient. That was my frustration with Dr. Smith. I could never get an appointment when I had skin flare-ups. I always had to wait and if it was over a year I was a "new"patient and was pushed even further out. I work downtown so now I go to Dermatological Association of Texas on Binz street across from the Children's museum. They have several great Dr.s (I really like Dr. Robare Stout) and I never have to wait long when I'm there or when making an appointment. If you don't mind the drive, they are worth it. They are also open SATURDAY! 281-333-DERM (3376) 4951

I haven't seen Dr. Smith since 2013 apparently. The PA I went to that gave me medicine that had a restriction of "not going outside if it's hot" is no longer with them. While on it, it stopped all sweating so I had to be very careful not to allow my body to overheat. They could have got me in Friday but I choose next week, even though it had been awhile since seeing them. 4951

@Nicole4647: So, it appears Dr. Smith could have seen you rather quickly. It really doesn't sound like him or his office is to blame for anything, since YOU declined the offer for the appointment, and might not be quite so deserving of the negative "review" above, or the negative "not a fan" claim.  We have used Dr. Smith for many years and have been very pleased with the care, both by him and his current and former PA. He is quite popular now, so appointments are at a premium.

I am clarifying in this post because I don't want anyone to get a negative impression of him or his office, unjustly, when it was not their lack of care that has caused you to go elsewhere.   4951
