My good-for-nothing SIL runs off to Dallas for a Jimmy Buffet concert weekend leaving her baby girl home the night of her prom. Maybe I'm the weird one, but that's just a very special night and special time in a girl's life. This is her youngest daughter. Un-freakin-believable! What a selfish worthless b#t*h! I hope she chokes on all that beer she's chugging in all of her Facebook pics. 4951

Are you going to help her dd get ready?

@Fallon: I just found out TONIGHT by looking at Facebook. Trust me, I would have cleared my day and driven to Tomball to be there for her. She looked gorgeous, so someone gave her guidance, but that's not the point....NO ONE can replace a mother on special days like this. 4951

How many kids/girls does she have. Let's be real. If you have more than three, by the time you get to four or more, you are checked out. I am nearly checked out with two, and thank God they are boys. 4951

Those are the moments you never get back with your kids. They are priceless.   I can't imagine missing it for anything short of a family emergency.  Priorities! 4951

Wow! I have three and rearranged my work schedule so that I could go to my youngest's corobaree this week. Couldn't imagine not helping her get ready for prom! 4951

@Jpgurl: That makes me even madder at the selfish loser! She even posted a "love you, very proud" post on FB from the concert. Emory words o line does not and will never replace her absence. I responded Ina very complimentary way to my niece, with a subtle dig at the loser.

i don't know. Prom isn't a big deal to everyone. i didn't want to go to my junior prom but my friend found me a date so i sacked it up and went. She ended up hooking up with him. My senior prom i had absolutely no interest in either. I made plans to go out to the island where i worked instead and where all my real friends were, not the ********s I went to high school with. My mom and sister pretty much forced me to go to my senior prom. I hated every minute of it and was counting down till the dumb things going was over. As soon as we were allowed to leave I was the first one out that door. Had a friend waiting for me (didn't even get a limo) with my stuff. Changed in the car, those my dress in the trunk and didn't look back. Got to where I wanted to be all night, with the people I actually wanted to be with and had a great time. but the prom itself was a waste of time and money in my opinion. Not everyone looks at those types of things the same way. Maybe the girl would rather her mom not been there, who knows. 4951

@ForeCPA90:
Woot!!Hope it won't rain and an tad cooler- I'm amazed at how many youngsters there are- some of these peeps were just a gleam in their Dads' eyes when JB started out!!

@Donnatella- I feel bad for your niece.. To a point. I was totally useless to my DD. I was a Tomboy so didn't know Jack about girly stuff. BUT I was home ( lol we were selling our house to move here, my Mom was dying and it was pouring down rain) and I drove her to the salon and waited 6 hours for her to get her hair done!! She looked amazing and had a great time ( despite the fender bender she and her date had- back in the days before limos and the whole 9 yards) 4951

@allymansfield: That's definitely not the case here. I'm sorry your experience was so vastly different from millions of other girls who get excited about, look forward to and plan for their proms for years, considering it one of the highlights of their school years.
