So, I bought my used 2012 Honda Accord back in October. I did NOT think about whether or not I would need a lug nut key to change a tire.I found out this morning! I do need one. I had to leave my car this morning and get a ride to work.  When I get home I'm going to have to figure out what to do! I searched and searched in the glovebox, and trunk this morning before I left, and couldn't find it.Can Honda cut me a new key? Can I just have the locks taken off?I know the tire will go bad if I let it sit too long. What should I doooooooooo?????Thank you all. Sorry to be so needy! 4951

Did you look where the spare tire is? Under it, etc.. 4951

Call a Honda dealership. They should be able to get you a new one. 4951

If I understand what you are looking for, you are not really looking for a key, you are looking for a ratchet attachment. Its a metal cylinder that attaches to a ratchet that loosens one bolt that "unlocks" your wheel - so it makes it more difficult to steal. Even if you have lost it, its a small pain in the ***, but not a big deal. It always can be stripped off and the bolt replaced or Honda can cough up another one. The most common places they can be are glove compartment, center front and rear console, door storage slots, under seats, trunk with the tire jack or with the spare tire. Other than those places its not in your car, and you might not have ever gotten one. You might also call who you bought it from. 4951

Thank you all!I looked everywhere! Someone else helped me look, so I think I just didn't get one. So, will I have to have someone come out and strip it off for me before I can change the tire?I can't drive to the Honda dealership, or Discount Tire. Also, the spare is a donut!!What a predicament! 4951

Happened to me, with the Jeep. Found out the hard way! Discount Tire and NTB have a lot of "keys," but even if they don't have the one to match yours, they can still get the old ones off and just replace the nuts. 4951
