I'm sorry but this is just a chicken $#it move. Deny someone the nomination because you won more delegates, fair and square, not because of posturing and game play. This is exactly why people are flocking to Trump...to get away from establishment BS and tactics.

From CNN.com: Ted Cruz and John Kasich issued startling statements Sunday night about their paths ahead, the first sign the two campaigns are coordinating to deny Donald Trump the Republican presidential nomination.

Within minutes of each other, the pair issued statements saying they will divide their efforts in upcoming contests with Cruz focusing on Indiana and Kasich devoting his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. The strategy is aimed at blocking Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination this summer.

The GOPe wants Hillary to win.Hillary will keep the gravy train running.  She's as corrupt as the leadership in both parties.Well, there really is only one party now.  It's all about the money (and chicks for free). 4951

I don;t get how any of these delegates can be vouched for as voting for whoever they state... is someone going into the voting booth with them and watching? It's an honor system I guess? Yeah, so were the other candidates pledges and look how that turned out. Also no honor system when the people vote one way big majority and all the delegates go in the opposite direction. Why even have a popular vote anymore, I've been saying this for years. Why am I voting in a system where my vote counts for nothing. Remember that "Rock the Vote" campaign years ago...yeah more like delegates and electorals throw rocks at me is more like it. 4951

If anything, this will make more people flock to Trump. This is a perfect example why you do not want someone like Cruz in office. He can't get in fair and square so he resorts to dirty politics. 4951

Cruz tried running as an outside but now he shows he is an "establishment guy" just like the others.

@Stealth83: Yep, and he was really always an establishment guy.  Just look at his connections.  His wife's connections.  Establishment all the way.  He was a con man from the start.
Granted, Trump is playing his own game as well.Whoever wins, the next 4 years are going to be very interesting. 4951

I was wondering what happened to the delegates that a candidate had won, but then drops out of the race or suspends their campaign.  If a candidate suspends his/her campaign and remains so up to the convention or until the election, their delegates remain theirs. If a candidate drops out of the race, and endorses another candidate, their delegates become free agents BUT typically support the endorsed candidate. Therefore, if Kasich drops out and endorses Cruz, his delegates don't have to support Cruz but most probably will. 4951

Kind of like all the radio people beating the drums for Ted Cruz trashing Trump voters as stupid.  Even if Cruz wins you still need the people who voted for Trump to vote for Ted in order for him to win.  What total slim ball scum bags. 4951

Rule states Kasich has to win 8 states I believe to be in Cleveland. Ain't gonna happen. Who wants a leader that tore up his pledge to support Trump if elected and also won't drop out without 8 wins....not even close to being nominated yet already breaking rules and promises. If he can't follow basic rules and pledges what would make anyone believe he would start doing so if elected..... he would stab anyone in the back just like Obama that got in his way.  4951

How can you say what's wrong or right for them when it's their careers on the line?  Both Cruz and Kasich see a path to victory in a contested convention.  So their strategy to try to stop Trump from getting 1237 is a good one.I like that these guys are trying to win.  The GOP has been losing for years.  They control Congress yet Obama still gets his way.  We need guys who can figure out how to win. 4951

The latest delegate count for the GOP:Even if Kasich drops out and endorses Cruz, AND all of his delegates support Cruz, Cruz still needs 530 out of the remaining 733 delegates to win a clear nomination.Trump only needs 392 of the remaining 733 delegates to get a clear nomination. If Trump gets 1237 or more delegates and the GOP still wants a brokered convention, the GOP will tear itself apart and Hillary will win.  Even if neither get the 1237 delegates needed, the GOP brokered convention will tear the party apart. No for the Democrats...On states delegates, Bernie is pretty close to Hillary.  It's the "Super-delegates" that are pushing Hillary way ahead.  Super-delegates are just Democratic donors/hacks that can vote any way they want.  Since the head of the DNC is a very strong Hillary supporter, it's easy to see why the super-delegates are overwhelmingly supporting Hillary.  I'll bet a lot of those CEO's that paid an average of $225,000 for her or Bill's speeches are super-delegates. 4951

@fcabanski: Cruz I'm ok with staying in but Kasich, if he can't win 8 states NO. Not invited, those are the rules. He won't win 8 states but he's acting like he will be at the convention either way. BS. That rule was put in place but now they want to change the rules in the middle of the game. again, BS.

I agree with you, but I'm not the one running.  Maybe Kasich is doing it to get himself a cabinet position or VP slot.  Who knows?  4951

I think the GOP is using Cruz and Kasich to keep Trump from getting 1,237 delegates and force a brokered convention.  The GOP doesn't want Trump or Cruz, but are willing to lie and use Cruz as the "preferred" candidate.  Cruz is being used and will not get the nomination. With all the "stink" involving Hillary, the GOP should easily win this election, but they are screwing it up like they did in 2012. 4951
