Just got back from the groomers. They called and asked if they could shave Bree's tail, which they don't usually do, but she had a large mat they could not brush out. I couldn't either. Her tail looks so funny now.
No, we get them shaved down spring and late summer. They do better in the heat. But usually the tail is only trimmed, not shaved. We were delayed getting it done this year due to Bree's mole removal. 4951
Watch that she doesn't start licking or chewing that area. Â Looks kinda pink. Â You might give her a children's benedryl (dose by weight) to give her some preemptive relief from itching. Â BTW.. Â A TAIL DOES NOT MAKE A DOG!! Â I'm sure she's beautiful as ever!!! 4951
Yea it looks a bit close. She may have a few shave burns. Hair grows fast so she will be fine but the close shave may irritate her a day or two. Enzo gets giant matts I miss in all his fur and I got to get close on purpose. I just add a few drops of younglivings lavender to coconut oil. Just coconut oil alone will be fine and will help it not itch or get irritated. I agree watch the sun exposure for about a week. 4951
That said they were matching the depth of the shaved part from her mole removal, which was rather short, since it was a literal shave for the surgery. Although it was growing back after 6 weeks. Heidi wasn't as short. 4951
Heidi, she was very vocal all the way home (a mile and a half), and soon as she jumped out the van, she was squat, and pee'd, pee'd and pee'd. I can identify

@FoFa: Looks like a squirrel tail with a dog in front of it! 4951
OMGness, half your dog is gone! She will feel so much better now. Thanks again for the plants, if they are not gone this weekend and I can get free, maybe I will come and do some more, a little better prepared this time :D 4951
